GlossyBox is Two!!

Hi Everyone,

I got home yesterday after a nightmare exam and found this sitting on the kitchen table, so it was quite a treat. Its actually GlossyBox's 2nd Birthday!! So Happy Birthday GlossyBox!!
I loved the GlossyBox packaging in this box like usual, The cute little print on the paper of make up and especially the neon pink ribbon.
There was a special little treat for everyone as it's GlossyBox's Birthday, These cute mini nail files, there's twenty in the pack and they're great for travelling with and even just popping in your handbag, I know I really should as I never have one handy. Plus if you've been subscribed to GlossyBox for more than a year they threw in a little Green and Black's chocolate which is always nice.
1) Collection Fast Stroke Eye liner in Black (£2.99 for 6ml) This is just one of those products I'm probably not going to use, Just for the fact that me and liquid liner don't agree, I'll try it and probably fail, But I have heard good things about this, so its probably a really good product if your into liquid liner and affordable too!

2) Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Prime & Create Mixing Medium (£20 for 20g) This actually used to be BM Cosmetics and I like quite a few of the other things GlossyBox has sent by them before. So not only am I excited for this due to that, but also because its multi purpose as a primer and mixing medium.

3) Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara in Black (£15 for 8ml) I've heard quite a bit about this product, So I'd be super excited if I hadn't already got it. I still haven't tried the one I already have as I don't like opening new mascaras when I already have one open.

4) Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray by Paul Mitchell (£18.95 for 125ml) I got sent a shine spray in the February box, As much as I love Paul Mitchell, I just don't think its very easy to pull off the 'Shine' look with blonde hair. Plus I really cant stand ginger, Ill give it a go but I think this might just become a product I'm not going to use sadly.

5) Headline Colors Poolside Party Nail Polish in Gunmetal (£9 for 10ml) There is only one thing slightly wrong with this, Gunmetal isn't part of the Poolside Party Collection. Its part of the Autumn/Winter Collection, However I did want this one anyway so I guess it works out. Plus Headline Colours actually used to be Killer Colours by the way, I reviewed one here, Just so you can see how they are.
(Swatches: Headline Colors Poolside Party Nail Polish in Gunmetal (Two Coats), Collection Fast Stroke Eye liner in Black and The  Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara in Flutter Wand)

Overall I like the products in this box, But most just aren't products I'm going to use, which is rather disappointing  Maybe Ill grow to love the products in here but other than 2-3 products I'm just not too excited over it. But what is a ok box to me someone may love, I just think that last months box was definitely the best and should of been the Birthday Box.

How do you like GlossyBox this month? Which has been your all time favourite GlossyBox?

Illamasqua HydraVeil

Hi Everyone,

Today I finally have my review on the new Illamasqua Hydra Veil, Now if you've read my summer beauty post you'll know this is the one thing out of the Paranormal collection I was desperate to get my hands on! However it sold out in 2 hours in Manchester *super sad face*, But luckily I got my hands on it in Sheffield!
This is a first for Illamasqua and the Beauty World has had to recreate a category for it, As its not skincare or make up, so its got its on little category as cosmetic care. It basically creates a smoother base for your foundation  Its a "quick fix", Unlike skincare that takes weeks to start working, The Hydra Veil instantly works. It works amazingly with the Skin Base foundation, as its so hydrating.

It contains Anti-Oxidant Marine Algae, I cant say that I know what that is but it sounds interesting. It also evens out the Skin tone and reduces Redness, So I think I'm going to have found a new love in this.
I love the packaging, Its so sturdy and clip locks, I guess you could say. Plus the little spoon to scoop the product out with is so cute!

You literally need the tiniest amount for your entire face, I was a bit dubious about this, I thought how on earth can so little go so far. But it really does! You only need a little spoonful and then apply it with a brush, as it is so hydrating as soon as you put it on the skin it just soaks it right up! I apply it with a Real Techniques   pointed foundation brush from the core collection.
Now for one of the most amazing parts, Its self levelling! I could literally mush it up and watch it re-level for hours. I'm not sure how it does it, But I get rather annoyed with creams that don't do this now, I think I'm a bit obsessive over it now.
I think this really could become a firm favourite of mine, It feels amazing on and helps with dry patches! Hallelujah! I think Illamasqua have come up with yet another winner here!

You can get hold of it here for £27.00.

Have you tried the Hydra Veil? Leave a comment on it or just about Illamasqua, I'd love to hear your views!

Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner

Hi Everyone,

This is a review on the new Illamasqua Gel Liner from their Paranormal Collection. This is what I got at the Illamasqua Selfridge's Beauty Event that I went along to which was my last post here. This is the first ever gel liner by Illamasqua, So its a bit of a huge deal.
I love the packaging, plus it holds 5g of product, which I think is the biggest gel liner you can get as most others hold 3g. I'm not sure how quickly this dries out as its such a new product but hopefully you actually get to use most of it before it does.
I think this is actually the blackest gel liner on the market, you don't need to keep going over it to build the colour its just so pigmented. It also doesn't drag on the skin because its so soft and creamy, It blends out beautifully. So you can use it as a base for a smoky eye or just soften your liner.

It also wont budge once set as its a waterproof formula, which I love seeing as I usually end up with the panda look when it comes to eye liner, You just need a little eye make-up remover to take it off. When I swatched it on my hand then went to rinse it off and it would not move one bit.
(Swatches: Left to Right: Infinity Blended out, Infinity applied with a angled brush)

I apply it using a angled brush, But it was released along side a brush which you can see here. Which I'll probably get sucked into buying one day too.

You can get this at Illamasqua Here for £18

Have you tried anything from the new Paranormal Collection? What's your favourite Gel Liner?

Illamasqua Summer Beauty At Selfridge's

Hi Everyone,

On Wednesday I went to Illamasqua at the Trafford Centre in Manchester to attend the Summer Beauty Event with Leena, Illamasqua's Head Trainer for the North. Plus it was the day after the new Paranormal Collection had just launched! Ill go through all the products I can remember being used, This is probably going to be a picture heavy post by the way...

Brows: Eyebrow Cake In Thunder and Concealer (Not sure of the shade)
Firstly Leena started with the eyebrows, Filling in with the eyebrow cake from the middle to the end, Then back to the inner part to create the signature Illamasqua Brow, Then with concealer, Outlined the brow to make it more sharp and defined, This was then blended out later.

Eyes: Powder Eyeshadow in Sex and The Paranormal Palette
Next Leena used the powder eye shadow on the brow bone and inner corners of the eye, as its matte its great as a highlight. Then using the Coppery shade from the Paranormal Palette in Aura all over the lid and then blended into the crease up to below the brow bone. Next using Paranormal, The pink shade on the outer corner and crease, Then using Trance (Purple) in the inner corner and outer corners. Then finally Leena ran Possession the green shade under the eye.

Eyes: Precision Gel Liner in Infinity and Masquara in Raven
Then to Finnish the eyes Leena used Illamasqua's first ever gel liner to line the eyes then smudge out for a smokier look, then also lining the upper and lower water line. Also using a few coats of the Masquara to the lashes.
Skin and Face: Hydra-Veil, Skin Base Foundation (Not sure of the shade), Gleam in Supernatural and Aurora
Leena did the skin after the eyes so not to disturb the foundation if there was any fallout, Starting with the Hydra-Veil (The one thing I desperately wanted from the new collection and it sold out in 2 hours *sobs*). Over that was the Skin Base Foundation, Leena didn't use a concealer as Skin Base is like a foundation and concealer in one. Then finally using the new Gleam in Supernatural as a glowing contour and Aurora as a amazing cheek bone highlight.
Lips: Lipstick in ESP and Posture
Lastly for Lips, Leena did a two tone lip using the two new lipsticks from the new collection. Using ESP the bright dark purple to line the lips and fill the outer corners, then Posture the lighter mauve to fill in the middle of the lip, Both are matte shades.
This was the finished look, Including some false eyelashes too in number 13 I think.

I'm going to name this week Illamasqua Week as I have so many little Illamasqua posts and reviews to upload, so I hope you don't mind. This event was amazing and I've learnt so many tips and tricks from it. I recommend going to any of the Illamsqua events, especially if Leena is there too!

It was £10 redeemable on any products, Its part of the Selfridge's Summer Beauty Events, I also highly recommend checking out the new Paranormal Collection too!

Have you been to any Illamasqua Events? How do you like the new collection?

April Favourites

Hi Everyone,

Once again it doesn't seem like a month has passed since my May Favourites. This months favourites are a little different, It's not just beauty, as I didn't have many and it would be a very short favourites!
Firstly is the MAC Complete Comfort Cream, I've had this for a while but I've got into using it again this month. I've been using it just before my make up, it really helps to add that bit of extra hydration to my skin as it's started to become very dry again.
Next is the new MUA Power Pout in Irreplaceable, I've been wearing this to college, as it's not a very bright colour, but still it can be quite a bold lip without being too much. I did a review on these here, so I won't go into too much detail about these.
My final beauty favourite has been the YSL Le Teint Touché Eclat Foundation, I've been loving this mixed with my other foundations, I've got them in the little bottles as my local stand is closing down and they had ran out of the proper full size ones. I've got 3 different shades due to that, so I just kind of mix them all together.
(Swatches: Left to Right - MUA Power Pot in Irreplaceable, YSL Touché Éclat Foundation in B10, BR 20, BD 20)

My Non Beauty Favourites have to be Nerds and Hobbie Stuart, I used to be obsessed with Nerds, but then the shop that sold them closed down! (Disaster!!) But I found these in Poundland and have been eating them ever since! Plus I just love they're from Willy Wonka too!

Hobbie Stuart's Cover of Stay which he features in with Alexa Goddard, has been a firm favourite this month, I've been listening to it every day. You can listen to it here!

What have been your favourite Beauty Favourites and Non Beauty Favourites?
