GlossyBox Mistletoe Kisses

Hi Guys,

I'm back with another Glossybox opening post, the last one of 2016. (I still can't get over how quick this year has flown by!) Over the past four or five years that I've been subscribed to Glossybox (I've lost count!) the festive boxes are always good, however they've picked a winner this Christmas! 

There's quite a few collaborations included in this box, which is themed Mistletoe Kisses, as it's all based around lipstick. There's a collaboration between Glossybox and Missguided, which I think I'll give a go. Ive not tried a lot from Missguided, but the things I have tried have been great for the price. Then there is also another collaboration between Glossybox and Give and Makeup, who ask for new or sometimes swatched cosmetics and toiletries. Which they then donate to women in need after suffering domestic abuse. Which I think is a lovely thing to do and I'm glad Glossybox are helping to promote the idea too. 

 A few weeks ago I received an email from Glossybox, asking me to complete a survey to chose which lipstick I would like from MDM Flow. There were two options; a nude or a deep berry shade, whichever one you picked would determine the contents of your box for this month. It was a difficult decision seeing as at this time of year I wear both shades religiously, however the nude shade swayed me. 

GOSH Mono Eyeshadow in 014 Dark Green - £8.99 for 1.7g

Glossybox really do know how to win my heart, a shadow that's dark green and glittery, this just screams Christmas to me. GOSH isn't really a brand that I've tried a lot from, but anything I have tried again I've loved. But they're still not a brand I would go out and pick up while in SuperDrug. As I tend to stick with what I know and love in the drugstores. However this shadow is gorgeous, the pigmentation is great, you really don't need a lot at all. The glitter doesn't seem to fall down too much and cause a massive under eye mess and it blends really nicely too, which is a win win for me. 

Revlon Nail Enamel in 705 Gray Suede - £6.49 for 14.7ml

I think Revlon polishes are one of those brands that you just can't go wrong with. They have such a pretty selection of colours in a wide range, from classics to brighter and even smelly ones too. I've been looking for a new nude polish to wear to work, as I seem to have every other type of colour in my collection. I love the very subtle shimmer that runs through this, it is quite a cool toned nude, but it's wearable and doesn't drain the colour right out of your hands. Plus Revlon Nail Enamels hardly ever chip, they've got one of the best long wearing formulations I've ever tried. 

MDM Flow Lipstick in Bossy - £18 for 3.5g

MDM Flow is a brand that I think is a little bit more unknown, although I've heard of them and I've wanted to try one of their lipsticks for a while. It's one of those ones that I never got round to trying. (I'm still kicking myself for missing the MDM Flow X House of Glamdolls collaboration!) The lipstick itself is lovely, the formulation of it means it has a semi matte finish. It's moisturising while on and has a good amount of colour pay off, due to the formulation it doesn't drag while being applied either. The colour is quite a warm toned nude, it's definitely a little browner than I thought. The only thing I found a tiny bit disappointing is the packaging, I kind of thought it would be quiet weighty in feel. However it's quite light and just not what I expected from the look or price of it unfortunately. However I do love how fun and different it is, it really stands out on the market. 

Browcote - £6.99 for 4ml

I can't say I'm the biggest fan of Lipcote in the world, however I'm super excited to try their newest product, Browcote. As soon as I read that it's a waterproof sealing gel for your brows, I was sold. I haven't got around to trying it just yet, but I hope I've not built my hopes up too much. As I'm imaging my brows never moving again haha. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to my trusty Illamasqua Brow Build, that also gives me colour and thickens too. As the Browcote just seals the brow hairs in place and won't give it any extra colour or depth. 

Essence Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette - £3 for 14g

A palette that's just £3 with three different highlighter shades inside?! Now usually I'd be a bit dubious of this actually being any good, but as its Essence and they're actually a really incredible brand when it comes to quality for the price. I'm very excited about this, especially as each shade has a slightly different finish too, giving you so many different options. The three shades are Nude Highlight; a satin natural highlighter, Rosé Highlight; a subtle shimmer pink toned highlight and Golden Highlight; a pearlescent warm golden highlighter. They're all really pigmented, although not the creamiest in feel, they are more powdery when applied. They're an incredible bargain for the selection and standard of the product.

I think Glossyboc has outdone themselves this Christmas, it's fair to say this box is possibly my favourite from their subscription range this year. I would really reccomened grabbing it Here.

Spring Preening with Glossybox April

Hi Guys,

I've missed out on blogging the last few months of Glossybox offerings, I cant say last month however was a winner in my eyes. Glossybox have been bringing out a streak of brilliant boxes and I'm just starting to feel like its possibly starting to head down hill. However there's always going to be boxes I love and others don't and vice versa.

This month more specifically is themed Spring Preening, with new additions for your makeup bag heading into Spring Summer. As well as skincare, nail care and body art pieces, for a pamper or to get ready for the warmer weather and parties/festivals to come.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER* One thing that has really thrown me is the fact that I got an email from Glossybox to pick a Revlon Mascara for my next box, so I kind of presumed it was going to be in this one. However I'm guessing it's probably going to be in next months instead... I hope!

Essence Mosaic Compact Powder in - £3

I must admit this product really confuses me, to say its the lightest shade in a compact powder, I would really say its more of a bronzer. After looking into it more, it is in fact a bronzer, which means the name just confuses me even more, but oh well! It definitely looks extremely pretty in the pan and has a slight shimmer to it, so I think it's definitely more of a natural glow bronzer than a defining contour type product. 

STYLondon Temporary Henna Tattoo's - £5.99

Although these Tattoo's are absolutely gorgeous, I don't have any idea when I'll actually get round to using them...

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil - £28

This was one product I knew was going to be in the box as it was on the little sheet in the last box, however I was a bit disappointed when I saw the size of the sample. It contains 7ml of product, so compared to the full size that contains 30ml of product, this overall comes to £6.53. Although disappointed I'm looking forward to trying it, as I've heard a lot about the new Body Shop range. Plus  it promises hydrated and smoothed skin after use, so I shall definitely give that a go!

Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner - £22

This eyebrow pencil claims to be a one shade suits all pencil, I think this probably suits the highlighter more than the actually brow shade itself. The highlight has a slight shimmer to it but is really creamy, as are both sides of the pencil, which makes it easier to buff out. I think the brow pencil is a bit too ashy for certain hair colours, but It could be quite universal. Studio 10 will also donate to Look Good Feel Better, with every pencil sold too. 

Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist - £12

This looks like a rushed manicure saviour in a bottle. Why is it always that you think of a million things to do straight after painting your nails? I've tried the quick dry drops before but found the bottle actually evaporated so quickly I think I only got 4 uses out of it. So the fact this ones a spray has my hopes up that it won't be a repeat of last time.

I cant say I've fallen head over heels in love with this box, I think for me I'm just mostly excited to use the Leighton Denny Mist. Although I'll probably use everything eventually, I'm usually just quite excited to get stuck in and try everything. Where as with this one sadly It's one I could take or leave...

The Rose Gold Glossybox with Really Ree

Hi Guys,

I dont think I've ever been so excited over packaging in my entire life, the December Glossybox is just the box of dreams. Not only is it Rose Gold, it's also a collaboration this month with the lovely blogger Really Ree. It's filled with lots of Ree's much loved favourites and a few extra goodies to try too.

It's theme is all about getting prepped and prepared for the party season and you'll be all ready to celebrate all the festivities!

You actually get six products this month instead of five, as well as four of the six being full-size products too. The overall value of the box comes to £65.65 which is not bad at all. It's such a varied selection of skin care, makeup and a little nail treat too. 

Collection Long Lasting Nail Polish in Cosmic Stars - £2.99 for 8ml

Collection polishes aren't necessarily ones I would think to go out and buy, I'm a tad too attached to my Illamasqua ones. But actually the offerings that collection have for the price are great. I love the name of this one as well as it really reminds me of a night sky and all the stars, it's perfectly sparkly for Christmas and I think it would be a lovely shade for the New Year too. 

Etre Belle Golden Skin Caviar Roll On - £30.66 for 10ml

Eye creams are so easily forgotten about and having a roll on just seems to make that step that bit quicker and easier to remember. Especially when you can put them in the fridge and the feel 10x more amazing, because the rollerball tip is nice and cool. Unfortunately though I have a bit of a reaction to anything gold, so although I think the fact it says Golden in it doesn't mean there actually is a gold element to it. I'm going to just avoid it for a bit until I can check the ingredients! 

So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil in Starlight - £15 for 1.8g

So Susan is definitely a Glossybox favourite, it appears quite a lot in the boxes and its a pleasure to see them in every box as they are kinda unknown and do have a great selection of products. The pencil itself glides onto the skin effortlessly, it has a feeling thats almost like velvet and leaves such a pretty sheen, its subtle but gives a natural glow to the skin. It does exactly what it says on the stick, it really does give you statement skin.

Hylamide Pore Delete - £18 for 30ml

I had never heard of Hylamide before but they actually have such an interesting range of products, I think its possibly the almost lab like design of their packaging that draws me in. Pore Delete itself is used to reduce the look of pores instantly, it can't really be used to reduce the look of them in the long run. But it will smooth the skin out and make them appear smaller, which is great for applying your makeup over and then you're getting a more seamless finish.

Essence Liquid Lipstick in Show off - £2.50 for 4ml

I will admit I was a little confused when applying this, as when I think liquid Lipstick, I do tend to think of a highly pigmented lipgloss that turns into a matte product. Although this is a really highly pigmented gloss, thats where it ends as it doesn't go matte. It stays glossy, but not sticky and is really comfortable to wear, it feels moisturising on and In the end I actually quite like this kind of Liquid Lipstick. Though I would like to see Essence come out with a formula that does dry matte too, as they have a winner in this one.

Starskin Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Mask - £8.50 for 30ml
This month the added extra is this mask, although there are different versions in each box. I got the Behind the Scenes mask, which is calming and breakout busting. This is another packaging love, as I think it's so clever to have it like a film title reel, to emphasise that name. I also couldn't believe it when I saw that one mask has one whole bottle of serum infused into it, that's one intense boost of hydration in there too!

Overall I really love this month's box, from the gorgeous packaging to the festive products, ready to get you pampered and sparkly for the Christmas period. I think it's such a great selection this month and its always nice to get an added treat. Ree has done a fantastic job coming up with this one and I hope this is the start of more blogger related collaborations too.

Purple Summer Spotlight Eye Tutorial

Hi Guys,

I wanted to try something a little different for me on here and attempt a few makeup tutorials, by attempt I mean I had no idea how difficult it actually is to take pictures of your makeup for a pictorial. I salute anyone who can actually do it haha!

Anyway I wanted to share with you a look Ive been loving, which is a matte purple spotlight eye, which is perfect for summer and not as difficult as you would think. Plus purple is a fantastic colour that works with practically every eye colour too. But of course you can swap out the colour for anything else you like or just make it a more wearable look.

I'd also quickly like to apologise for how out of it I may look, I knew I was tired but I didn't realise how tired I actually looked on camera haha. 

I wanted to keep the eye quite simple so I tried not to use a lot of products, the products Ive been reaching for though are;

• Illamasqua Powder Shadow in Creep, Inception and Livid
• Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Intrigue
• MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
• Essence Get Big Lashes Mascara
• Illamasqua Smolder and Blending Brush

Firstly I used Mac Soft Ochre Paint Pot all over my eyelid as a base, I really like this as it doesn't budge and it helps to boost the intensity of the colour.

Then I went into the crease of the eye with Creep using my Smoulder Brush, as its denser and smaller to fit in the crease easier to be precise and then blending it out with my Blending Brush. By putting Creep down first your giving the other shades something to blend into, making the other purples not seem as harsh against the skin. 

If you didn't want to use purple, you could use a shade such as Heroine, a matte taupe brown, from Illamasqua, to do a more neutral eye. 

I then used my smoulder Brush again but this time with Inception, to fill in the inner and outer corners of my eye, leaving a gap blank in the centre of the eye. The best way to judge where to bring the purple to, to create the gap. Is to look directly into the mirror as you do it and only bring the purple to the edge of your pupil. This then gives you a gap in the centre portion of your eye and helps brighten them. 

You also want to do the same trick under your eye, running the purple under your bottom lashes again leaving the gap for your lighter shade in the centre.

If you were doing a neutral bronzy version, replace Inception with Tango a copper bronze shade.

You then want to blend out Inception and add Intrigue to the centre portion on your lid and underneath your bottom lashes. Then lightly blend the two shades together, but be careful not to merge the two shades too much otherwise you'll loose the spotlight effect. 

You will find as you blend them out, they will fade a little bit, so just keep adding more intrigue to the centre and build it up to the intensity your happy with. I do like it on me quite bold, To build up the purple, Blending out Inception and just blending the edges where Intrigue and Inception meet. I use Livid to blend, it warms it up slightly with its more reddish undertone and softens the overall eye.

For the neutral version instead of Intrigue use a golden bronze such as Bronx and you could softly blend the two out using Vernau.

Finally just add your mascara, which I find really helps to soften the look, its a lot less full on. I also like to pair it with a pinky nude lip, such as my favourite Illamasqua Rosepout, or if you want to add more colour, purple looks amazing with coral too.

GlossyBox June

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to quickly say that today is my last day studying for my first year in HND Makeup Artistry. Which means its now blogging time for the next 8 weeks! Woohoo!

Now back to the actual box! Glossybox June is all about festivals, what you need to have for all the festival beauty this season. But if your like me and not going to any festivals this year, all these products can be used anyway for a summer pamper.

Personally for me I found that last months box, HERE, was really suited products wise for the festival theme. If I could put four of the products from this box with four from last month and just create the ultimate festival box I would.

This may be a little strange, but I tend to also judge the box on its weight, as it seems the heavier the box is the better it is. of course theres a few exceptions to that too though. So I was surprised at how heavy this box was, compared to my slight disappointment when opening it.

Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes - £1.20

When I first saw these I thought "ugh makeup wipes" I really don't like them at all unless Its a quick cleanse between changes for makeup on a model. However then I started to think, actually this box is for festivals and intact these would be really handy. The Halo wipes themselves are fragrance free and in a travel friendly sized packet, as well as removing waterproof makeup. At first glance these really aren't as bad as I thought they were going to be and I can see how they'd be useful.

Kushei Anti Cellulite Booster  - £14.55
I personally don't have cellulite and I also kind of didn't get why this product was in a festival box. Until I realised that one of the most popular festival attire choices is short shorts. This is the one product I would maybe take out, great for festival prep, but I thought the box would be more essentials for the festival themed. 

As a product itself though, I cant really say that I have personally tried it as I don't need to. But I find the smell lovely and not too strong, its almost slightly floral. The texture is almost like a cream, but as soon as you start to rub it in it melts away and almost becomes like a very thin cooling lotion.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Electriiiiiic - £1.71

I really like other polishes that Essence do in their range, I hadn't tried a Gel formulation from them, so Im excited to try it. I've found Essence to be very well wearing, especially for the price. The pigmentation to each coat is fantastic and is opaque with around 2 coats. As well as having quite a large applicator, covering more of the nail and they dry extremely quickly too. The shade itself is very on trend at the moment for this Summer too.

GlossyBox Flash Tattoo's - £6.50

Gold Metallic temporary tattoos have become such a huge holiday trend and is probably going to be just as huge at festivals. So Glossybox this month have created a sheet of their own for the box. Including their logo, which I cant see me wearing as Im not sure how weird that may be just to have Glossybox branding on your body? The other designs are all lovely though and I'd say are perfect for bracelets, but then here comes the design flaw. They are way too small in length to fit around anyones wrists! A small child probably, but unless you want a half bracelet or a chunky ring, Im kind of a little unsure on how to wear them.

Monu Spa Rosewood Reviving Mist - £11.95

I love Monu and their products are always lovely including this little gem. Of course it feeds my rose obsession, while being cooling on the skin, a huge plus for these warmer months! It says you can hydrate, which it does, as well as soothe, but you can also set your makeup with it. I prefer it as a little booster spray through out the day and prefer to use an actual makeup setting spray to set my makeup.

Although Im not as disappointed with this months box as to when I first opened it. Im still disappointed with it, I kind of expected more from the box this month. But each individual product  is good at what it does, its just not so much for me. My favourite bits would have to be the Essence Polish and the Monu Mist, but the other three Im not entirely fussed over, which is a shame.

April Favourites

Hi Guys,

Firstly I feel on one hand March has flown in and on the other its been ages since my March Favourites! Im not sure how but I think its down to the past few weeks coming in so quickly! So it also means its April Favourites time too! 

 I really enjoyed mixing up my favourites a little last month, so Ive added a bit of clothing this month instead of it just being predominately beauty. Although I loved a lot of beauty bits in April... 

After loving Benefit's Roller Lash in March, I'd also been using Essence Get Big Lashes Mascara on and off too. Though in April this was the only mascara I used, It curls my lashes really well and adds a little volume but not much. Im using it for the curling aspect anyway so that doesn't really bother me. It may not hold the curl as well as Roller Lash, but with the price difference this doesn't do a bad job at all! 

The foundation Ive reached the most for has to be the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer. I did a full review of it HERE, but Ive just really been loving the coverage it gives, while still sitting lovely and naturally on the skin. Even if the shade range is a little dodgy! 

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blusher in Diffused Heat, isn't really something I reach for regularly as Im usually having to be surgically removed from my Illamasqua ones. Though this month this is really the only blusher I wore. Its very pricey but the way it sits on the skin and leaves you with a radiant healthy looking glow, it cant be beaten! Im eyeing up more shades as we speak!

It wouldn't be a favourites post for me without Illamasqua! I have been especially loving their Powder Shadow in Creep, a lavender blue shade. Not one I ever thought I could pull off but its beautiful in the inner corner with purple all over the eye. 

Over the Easter Break I took part in doing the Makeup for Sister Act, although I love my MAC Brush Cleaner, it can be a bit difficult to travel with as its quite a big bottle! So I ran into Superdrug and picked up the B. Beauty Brush Cleanser that was recently launched. In all honesty I didn't have high hopes compared to my MAC one. But wow was I wrong, this stuff is fantastic, a couple of quick sprays and wipe your brush a few times on a towel and its clean! Its so quick and easy to use, fantastic to spot clean with!

My last beauty favourite is the Lush Solid Serum in Full Of Grace, I featured this in my Nightly Skincare Routine, to replace a Night Cream. I was going to buy a Night Cream but I love this stuff that much I just want to constantly apply it. Ive noticed a huge difference in how hydrated my skin looks and feels, it sinks into the skin so quickly and I cant believe how little you actually need!

My Fashion favourite this month has to be my Topshop Duster Coat, I got this recently in a Haul and it was very pricey. So I wanted to make sure I would wear it as I was originally a little unsure. However I feel like I'll also need to be surgically removed from this too as Ive pretty much lived in it, bar the day it decided to snow! (In April!! Thank you Scotland!) Its really light weight but still keeps you nice and warm, so its been great for this time of year. 

Hopefully I'll have some favourites for you for May, because I've been loving these products so much I really cant see me giving them up any time soon!

Essence in the UK

Hi Guys,

The European makeup brand Essence has hit the UK, well I must admit it has been here for while. It was launched in Wilkinsons, however there aren't many Wilkinsons in Scotland so it took me quite a while to track them down! 

The affordable makeup brand has become quite popular over here, they offer a huge selection of products, from gel nails at home to skincare! They really care about not testing on animals and offering great product quality for a fraction of the price.

I first heard about Essence many moons ago, when they brought out their Twilight Saga collection! If only that was available in the UK!! I've heard so many things about them since, so I had to give them a go, these are the bits Ive been trying out. 

Long Lasting Lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty - £2.30

This lipstick has a very creamy constancy which is comfortable on the lips, even though it has quite the punch of pigmentation to it. The shade its self is a dark rosy nude, its a very wearable colour and perfect for an everyday look. I think the packaging is very sleek and the fact the lipstick is embossed too, I find it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is.

Silky Touch Blush in 10 Adorable - £2.50

This lives up to its name, its such a silky textured blush! It isn't the most pigmented though, I think it would be a lovely thing to have if you are a little scared of blush and or want something very natural. As the shade its self is such a pretty rosy pink, I just find it very difficult to pick up enough colour from the product sadly, unless you heavily swatch it.

Get Big Lashes Mascara - £2.30

This is Essence's curling mascara and dare I say it, It may be replacing my newly beloved Roller Lash! The massive curved brush can look daunting, but believe it or not, the mascara leaves your lashes beautifully curled and no clumps! I found it also separated and lengthened my lashes  at the same time with its slightly drier formula. It is also very easy to remove and holds the curl extremely well, even on my stubborn lashes.

Lash Princess Mascara - £3.30

Just like the previous mascara this has the same kind of formulation to it, not too dry, but not really wet. Which means it also doesn't leave you with clumpy lashes. This mascara is specifically aimed towards adding Volume to your lashes. I found that it added more length than volume to my lashes though, it is lovely to define, but I just don't think it adds the volume very much at all. The brush is very separated brush with a bristle head to it, I think thats why it gives such a defined finish. 

Colour & Go Polish in 113 Do you Speak Love - £1.60

Firstly both polishes come with a really large applicator, which I do prefer as I find it helps to apply the product easier. You just need to make sure their isn't too much on the brush though or you may end up with nail polish fingers! Do you Speak Love is a beautiful glossy Burgundy Red and if I wasn't craving pastels right now (Come on Spring!) This would be slathered all over my nails!

Colour & Go Polish in 182 Hello Rosy - £1.60

I have a soft spot for the sand finish polishes and basically anything glittery too. So this is the best of both worlds being a gritty (nice gritty though!) sparkly, bubblegum pink shade. It is also very fast drying polish, just like Do you Speak Love. They really do live up to their Colour & Go name, just leave them for a couple of minutes and they're dry!

To say the most expensive product out of all of these comes in again at £3.30 the quality is fantastic! if you can find a Wilkinsons near you I highly recommend having a good look at the range! Ive got my eye on a few other bits too!

March Glossybox

Hi Guys,

Is it finally spring time? If yesterday's weather had anything to do with it then no haha, hail storms! Glossybox is getting everyone ready for Spring and into the theme of things with this months box! All about updating your products and bringing in the brighter shades.

There's a little sneak peek into next months box, in the form of a product. But I won't spoil it for anyone, it is a little inspired by Marilyn Monroe, if you'd like a little clue though! 

With four out of five of the products being full size and actually it was really six products this month! I could of squealed with delight, plus Glossybox got it just right for me, makeup and nails, what more could I ask for! 

NAOBAY Moisturising Peeling - £13.71 for 100ml

NAOBAY is a company I'd heard a bit about but never tried and to be honest I never even thought about looking into where I could try them. So it is great they're featured in the box as I can finally see what everyone is talking about! It was also a surprise to see how much they were, I had it in my head that they were a lot more expensive than they are. Ive not given it a go yet but I love the idea of a moisturising yet exfoliating treatment, especially for my dry skin! 

NcLA Nail Paint in Like... Totally Valley Girl - £13 for 15ml

NcLA is another brand that I've recently heard quite a bit about, An american quite high end nail polish brand. Which again I would of had no clue where on earth I could locate them haha! I love the name and it does actually make me think of LA, Im not sure why. I think the bright colour also reminds me of bikini's on the beach too!

Sleek Pout Paint in Rosette - £4.99 for 8ml

I'm actually really excited to see these in the box, I remember when they launched a good few years ago now and I loved the fact I could get something similar to the OCC Lip Tars. I haven't seen them in a while, so I just presumed that Sleek had stopped doing them, but Im glad they haven't. I love the shade of pink, its lovely and bright and almost on the purple side, which Ive been loving on the lips recently. 

Dove Youthful Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner - £5.99 for 250ml (each)

I was a little puzzled by these, Anti Ageing hair care? I know you start anti ageing skincare at 25, but Im in my teens so does it really count for haircare? However it is great to nourish brittle hair, so it would be fantastic for damaged hair. Its also great to see both the Shampoo and Conditioner included in the box too. 

Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara - £3.30 for 12ml

Glossybox landed on my door, right as I was about to get my pictures taken for a post about Essence. So this luckily got here just in time, so I won't go into too much detail as that post will hopefully be up very soon! 

Im really pleased with this months box and cant wait for the next one, especially if its got a bit of a Marilyn Monroe theme! There isn't a single product in the box this month that I don't want to use straight away too!

GlossyBox December!

Hi Guys,

Today I seem to of hit a bit of blogger block, I think mainly because Im sick. But I was very cheered up when my Glossybox came through the door! It's like an early Christmas present this month and it definitely looked like one, with its red ribbon and white and green wrapping paper style print!

I also just wanted to mention the really lovely response I got about my Glossybox Customer Care post, I wasn't really expecting it, I put it up more as a way to say thank you to Sam at Glossybox and It was lovely to get the response I have had. 

I was expecting big things from this box as its the Christmas one, however when I first opened it I was just a little bit disappointed. 

Essence Colour & Go Polish in Do you speak love? - €2.99 for 8ml
This is your typical blue toned berry red, perfect for this time of year. I do really love the name too, Essence has been a nightmare to get a hold of until it launched in Wilkinsons a few months back, Im very excited to have this in the box. It not a very fast drying polish though, but its a really good opaque colour, it just took me two coats, it has a very glossy finnish too.

Tresemme Renewal Hair & Scalp Treatment Shot - £5.50 for 4x15ml
Ive received a few of these from different Tresemme ranges before in previous boxes, I really enjoy them. They're basically a quick intensive treatment for your hair and they really work, this one left my hair feeling very soft and nourished, I was a bit dubious at first. They also smell AMAZING, my box actually smells of them which I love!

Bellapierre Cheek & Lip Stain in Coral - £12.99 for 5g
This really intrigues me as a cheek and lip stain is usually liquid, like Benefit's Benetint, this is a cream. Ive given it a quick go on the back of my hand, I really need to try it out properly. But I really like the effect it gives, Its a really nice natural flush. On the lips I wouldn't say it stains, but its very smooth and comfortable to wear, just not much colour pay off at all on the lips. I think I'd prefer it as a natural cream blush however.

Skin Pep Collagen Hydro Gel Face Mask- £19.99 for 5 Sheet Masks
Now Ive just noticed the mention of 'Snail Secretion' on the packet, can't say Im entirely sure how I feel about this. I have heard that snail slime does do wonders for the skin but Im still not sure.. It does contain Hyaluronic Acid which is fantastic for hydration. The Hydration part is what really appeals to me, but the anti ageing part Im not sure I really need just yet! Im also not a big user of sheet masks, plus you have to leave it on for 30-40 minutes!

Anatomicals Zap! Zap! Zap! Gets that Chap Day & Night Spot Stick - £3.79 for 7ml
I think Anatomicals always wins the biggest tongue twister product name haha! I was actually going to go and get the Origins Spot Remover as Ive had quite a few annoying break outs recently, I was very pleased when I realised this was in the box. Im really looking forward to giving it a go and seeing if it really works, I also love the fact it has a Night part and a Day part.

Once Ive actually really had a good go with these products Im actually really loving this box, The only thing Im not won over by is the Skin Pep Sheet Mask, everything else though is starting to look like a win in my book!
