Would You Rather Beauty Tag

Hi Everyone,

I have another Tag today, I've really liked doing these recently so when Taylor from Tayscollectionn tagged me to do the Would You Rather Beauty Tag I couldn't really say no! I hope you like them as much as I do and don't find them a boring read though!

Would you rather lose all of your Mascaras, Eye Liners, Lipsticks, and Lip Glosses or lose all of your Palettes and Eye Shadows?

Probably lose all of my eye shadows and palettes!, even though I love them dearly, I can always use eye liner as a shadow.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Probably never be able to cut it again, as I hardly get it cut anyway even though I should!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Pink Cheek for sure! I don't think I'm much of a coral person at all.

If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make-up?

Make Up! No question about it, I'd have such a High End Spree, MAC would love me!

Would you rather apply Lipstick as Eye Liner, or Eye Liner as Lipstick?

Eye liner as a Lipstick, Illamasqua do some great ones that would be great for the lips so it works out ok I think.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

We don't have Sephora in the UK, I'd love to go to one though, So It'll have to be MAC, I do love MAC too though.

Would you rather only use one Eye Shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?

This is difficult at first I thought one eye colour but I couldn't cope with that, Then again I couldn't cope with one lip colour, but it'll have to be one lip colour, I could at least use eye shadow on my lips with that colour to change it anyway?

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

This will have to be Winter Clothes in the Summer, you can at least layer and take some layers off when you get too hot. I'm always cold anyway so oh well.

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Currently I'm really loving dark nails, I don't really wear bright nails anyway except from the odd pink, so it'll have to be dark nails all year round.

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?

I'm going to go for Lip product, I have tons of the same colour in different formulations and types from different brands, so giving up my favourite one just means I have it again by someone else? I bet that's cheating.
..

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

A messy bun! I just can't do them to save my life, or any hair style for that matter...

Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

Never use lip gloss, I'm more of a lipstick person anyway and I couldn't really survive without nail polish, so that's a no brainer.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?

I look weird with pale eyebrows already without having none at all! So I guess I'm going to have to Sharpie them in everyday, you can get fine liner Sharpies? right?

Would you rather live without make-up or nail polish?

As much as I said I couldn't survive without nail polish, I'm going to have to say I'd rather live without it for this one, Make up has got to stay!

I tag you to do this if you have a blog! Plus don't forget to leave me your links if you do it in the comments I'd love to see what you say!

I also specifically tag:

Millie from Hidden Beauty Blog
Katrina from History Never Repeats
Holly from Petit Promise

Clarins The Essentials Palette

Hi Everyone,

I have been desperate to get my hands on this palette, I finally got one after much stress, It's been selling out at counters quickly, so I thought I'd put this up quickly as it seems the counters are getting deliveries of a few so there is still some about!

Part of the Clarins Christmas collection, this palette is a first for Clarins, its similar to the Urban Decay Naked Palette but different shades and packaging.

The packaging for the palette is made of cardboard but it still has a very weighty and luxurious feel to it, the actually insert of the shadows is removable and is made of plastic. With a reasonable mirror in the lid and a elastic strip to close it with.

The actual shades themselves are more of a purple tone, rather than brown based, unlike the naked palette. When I first saw the press release images I thought they were purple, Then other bloggers had them and said they were brown, but after seeing them in person they definitely have a purple tone to some of them. Even if my camera wont pick that up like usual!

The shades aren't named and just number 1-10 which is disappointing, they're shades 1-10 from left to right. It's also a mixture of matte, satin and shimmer shades. The lighter shades (1-3) are definitely sheer, which either you'll love or loathe. There isn't really any drop out from these shadows either but that also means that you have to pack it on slightly to get a lot of pigmentation from some shades.

I'd say that shades 3,7,9 and 10 are the more pink/purple toned shades in the bunch, but I like that they're more purple toned as its different to the Urban Decay Naked Palettes.

Also to go with the palette is a little overlay with the numbers of each shade and two diagrams to suggest ideas of where to place the shades for certain eye looks and quite a nice double ended brush, I'm just glad its not one of those awful applicators!

I think this palette is more of a wearable and sheer version of the naked palettes, its handy and different too.

You can get hold of it still in Boots, Selfridges, Debenhams, John Lewis, Clarins and House of Frazer at £35. There also seems to be a few left at counters if your lucky, as it is selling out pretty quickly!

P.s. Sorry for the awful pictures, the natural lighting is making it very difficult to capture things and I'm not sure how the pictures came out as different sizes!

October GlossyBox!

Hi Everyone,

I must say this every time I do a GlossyBox post but again I really hadn't heard anything about this box, well except from a bit of a sneak peek into the Glossy Mag front cover which I love by the way! When I received the box it seemed a bit light which is usually a bit of a concern. I'd also like to apologise for how bad the photos are, its been awful to try to get the right lighting!

This months Mag includes interviews with Wendy Rowe from Burberry and others, then little insights into brands and things included in this months box as well as things that the Glossy Team have tried and tested and are loving! My only dislike to this magazine is that its bigger than the box, which results in it having to be stored else where.

I was surprised when I opened my box, even though it was quite light it actually had some really good products in there which I wasn't expecting and they weren't actually a bad size. Also this months theme is dark romance I wouldn't say that half of the products in this box fit that brief!

1) Me Me Me Cherub's Blush Cheek and Lip Tint - £5.50 for 12ml
Me Me Me is never a brand I pick up and I've tried a few products of there's through Glossybox I think, I've heard a lot about this tint, being infamous for being a Benetint Dupe, I look forward to trying it out, I wish I could compare it with Benetint but I lost mine *sad face*.

2) Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance - £29.50 for 50ml
This I'd say meets the Dark Romance brief, however its not my kind of scent, even though its mainly a fruity and floral scent which I always like I think the woody and nutty tones to it puts me off, If you like more darker heavier scents then you should give this one a sniff.

3) Premae Multi - Vit Smoothie Serum - £22.50 for 50ml
Everything else in the box I either new the brand or had heard about, this product I know nothing about, I have to admit I'm lazy when it comes to serum so hopefully I might finally get into using this, plus its for combination skin but moisturising so hopefully it'll sort out my skin nightmare!

4) Monu Illuminating Primer £24.95 for 50ml
I love a good Monu product, I've tried so many from Glossybox before and I was very excited to see this in the box, I've tested it on the back of my hand and as far as I can tell its definitely Illuminating, plus it smells so good, Iv'e been looking for a new primer so this has come just in time.

5) Broadway Nails imPress Press - On Manicure in 58261 - £7.99 - £8.99
This was the most exciting thing in the box for me, even more exciting when I realised they were Medium Length, when I compared them to the Small Length ones though they do seem quite the extra bit longer, I'm not sure if they should be called Long Length instead.  Also these ones just have a number and no name unlike the rest of the range.

(Swatches: Left to Right - Cheek and Lip Tint Swatched, Then Blended, Impress Nails in Rock it, Impress Nails in 58261)

Box wise this month I don't think it was as well thought through, the only two products I'd say were Dark Romance Themed would be the Me Me Me Lip and Cheek Tint and the Katy Perry Perfume. I love that there's a Monu Product and imPress Nails though. I think it could of overall just been slightly better but at least its not awful. I've not seen any other boxes so I'm not sure what else you can get though.

Halloween with Illamasqua!

Hi Everyone,

The other weekend Illamasqua held a Beauty School Drop In Event especially for Halloween! I keep meaning to blog about these events and always forget, so finally I've got photos and I'm going to do it!

If you don't know already Illamasqua hold on the first Sunday of every month a Beauty School Drop In event at counters and stores excluding Selfridge's Oxford Street around the UK and now the USA, Plus each event is completely free!

So Specially for Halloween Illamsqua held a Halloween themed Drop In, I went a long to the Meadowhall counter and saw the look of Zerlindah with a bit of a twist!

Zerlindah is inspired by a witch and I love how Kyle at Illamasqua Meadowhall explained it, as a pretty witch as when most people think witch they think crooked noses and green faces, but in fact witches were all about powerful women so why cant they have pretty make up too! There's even still a bit of green in the look.

Kyle even pointed out that even though its a Halloween look its quite wearable, with a few tweaks you could easily re create the look for a night out not just for Halloween.

I tried to get a picture of all the products used so I'll do a bit of a list and hope I get them right!

Face:
Matte Primer, Skin Base Foundation and Cream Pigment in Mould (Contour), Skin Base Lift in White Light and Powder Foundation in 115.

Eyes:
Bedaub Cream Pigment, Masquara, Precision Gel Liner, Powder Eye Shadows in Sex, Flame, Fledging, Wolf, Obsidian and Jules and Liquid Metal in Phenomena.

Eyebrows:
Eyebrow Cake in Vehement and Brow and Lash Gel.

Lips:
Lipstick in Shard, Intense Lip Gloss in Boost and Eye Colouring Pencil in Honour.

Also if you have a look here at the Illamasqua website you can check out their two new products especially for Halloween, The Bat Lash False Eye Lashes and Nail Polish in Swarm, also on that page is four exclusive Illamasqua face charts of Zerlindah, Ruby Snow, Madame Prudance and Lady Raven.

Then to go with those face charts for the week of Halloween you can book in at a counter to have one of those face charts put on you, or if you need help with your Halloween make up or not sure what to do? You can book in and have Illlamasqua do it for you! I'm quite tempted, No one could do Halloween better than Illamasqua! The service is £50 though but its fully redeemable on any products!

I'm debating on doing a Halloween get ready with me post but I'm not sure yet so if you'd like to see it let me know!

I ❤ Fall Tag!

Hi Everyone,

I was tagged by the lovely Taylor over at Taylor's Collectionn to do the I ❤ Fall Tag and as you may of noticed before I've done the I ❤ Spring and the I ❤ Summer Tag, So I jumped at the chance as I love a good Tag!

1) Favourite fall lip colour?

This is Difficult anyone who knows me knows I have a never ending Lip Product Collection but at the moment I've been loving the Kate Moss Matte Rimmel Lipstick in 107 or as a trusty favourite it would have to be the NYX Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo!

2) Favourite fall nail colour?

Again I'm a nail polish addict, I love a glitter polish in the Fall/ Autumn for us Brits, But I love the deep dark burgundies too. An old favourite would be Barry M Raspberry but a new favourite will have to be Barry M Her Majesty.

3) Favourite Starbucks fall drink?

Ok firstly where I live we don't have a Starbucks, Secondly I don't drink Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate so for me my favourite Coffee Shop Drink for Fall would be the Costa Red Berry Fruit Cooler, Yes I do freeze after drinking one too at this time of year.

4) Favourite fall candle?

I don't specifically have a Fall Candle scent, I don't really like spicy scents I much prefer more fresh and floral scents so I'm still on the hunt to find a Fall Scent I think.

5) Favourite fall sweater/accessory?

A great big huge very warm Jumper! I've got one from Primark which I've had for going on three years now and I love it, Its falling to bits but I love it!

6) Haunted house, hay ride, or corn maze?

In the UK we don't have hay rides or corn mazes that I know of, Maybe the odd haunted house so I guess I'd say Haunted House.

7) Favourite Halloween movie?

I'm not too sure I have a Halloween Movie, I'm going to have to go for the Twilight Saga, So that's cheating a bit as it isn't "A" Movie or specifically a Halloween one either but Edward...

8) Favourite candy to eat on Halloween?

This has to be Chocolate, not even just for Halloween, All year round too! Either that or Haribo's!

9) What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

I haven't really decided, I like more of the glamorous side of Halloween if there even is one, Maybe I'll get some inspiration for something more gory while I'm completing my College Course but at the moment I've just been thinking about Sugar Skull designs.

10) What is your favourite thing about fall?

Jumpers! Dark Lipstick! Dark eye make up! Plus the fact its nearly Christmas!

Thanks to Taylor for tagging me and please go check out her blog Taylor's Collectionn too!

Now I Tag you if you read this and want to give it a go but I also tag...

Just a Little Update!

Hi Everyone,

I felt like I should do a bit of an update post, as I have so many Ideas for up coming posts but I really want to hear what you would like to see as I want to write posts you want to see! I thought I'd also try to explain why over the past few months there's been quite a few big gaps in uploading too! Also just to let you get to know me as I haven't really done anything like that for a while.

So firstly I've started back at college, I'm currently studying NVQ Level 3 Theatrical and Special Effect Hair and Media Make Up (Try writing that one on your application form!) Its longer hours than the course I studied last year and a lot more work, which has meant blogging has sadly had to be side tracked.

I'm also going to Professional Beauty North on Monday, So I'm hoping to get a blog post done for then, I'm actually going as a model for the Warpaint Contest, So I'll try to get some good content that you actually want to read hopefully.

Now onto what I'm trying to plan for future blog posts... I'm really hoping to do a little Christmas series on Christmas Releases, Christmas Gift Guides and just over all Christmas madness as I love Christmas which you are very soon going to find out! Just to pre warn you..

As well as the Christmas series I'm hoping to get a bit of a foundation review series started, I think I've mentioned this in other blog posts but I haven't yet got round to it. Hopefully it will be helpful I know I'm constantly on the hunt for the perfect foundation and believe me I've bought a lot of them, some amazing and some just get the reaction of "Why on earth did I ever buy that?!".

Lastly I'd love it if you left me your ideas as sometimes I do just get completely stuck with what to write, but if there's something you want to see or know a bit more about, Id just love to hear them. So I'm open to suggestions and I'll really try to do them for you too.

Eloise x

P.s. Before I forget its coming up to my blogging Birthday and I'm Hoping to do a little give away, so stay tuned for that coming up soon too!

September Favourites

Hi there everyone,

Sorry this post is up so late! College is 10x more hectic than last year plus because of the longer hours there's never time to photograph when there's actually light! But I'm going to pre write lots of posts so hopefully there wont be super long breaks in between each one!

This months favourites are actually sort of half and half, although I do love a good high end product. I've actually been loving a few high street products too last month! I'm not too sure if MAC is middle of the range or high end, seeing as their products seem to be upping in price (Bad MAC!).

Firstly I've been loving Barry M Her Majesty from the Royal Glitter Collection, I've done a post on this - Here, but I have seriously worn this for like half of September. I have to admit its a nightmare to remove but I love it too much to let it go for that reason.

Next up is the E.L.F Kabuki Brush, This is so handy, so cheap and so soft. Having to take my make up off all the time at college has meant I've got to put it back on, so instead of lugging around tons of brushes to save space I've been using this little mini brush and it's brilliant! It picks enough product up and doesn't apply it so its cakey. Plus it fits brilliantly in my little make up bag.

September was the month I went back to my neutral rose gold faze with make up, I actually thought id lost this MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam V, but found it again last month, prompting a obsession with it all over again! Its quite a pink toned my lips but better shade with a golden shimmer running through it. It's part of the Lustre line which gives it a sort of wet and glossy look to the lips. Plus because its a Viva Glam Lipstick the money from it goes to Charity!

MAC Cork Shadow is the first ever MAC Eyeshdow I bought and I've used it quite a bit, I've loved this with  a rose gold or pink toned shadow, by wearing this in the crease. Its a warm toned brown shadow so its great for contouring the crease with.

I've started to wear eye liner in my waterline, but black is just a bit too harsh for me at the moment so I've loved the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner in Bronze, It goes with most eye looks and does seem to last for quite a number of hours on the waterline.

Lastly I've loved Rubenesque the MAC Paint Pot, A great very long lasting cream shadow when I wear it with a primer, It makes a great base for shadows, Id say I could wear it for around 8 hours with a primer before it starts to crease. I love the rose gold colour to it too, was a staple during my rose gold faze!

(Swatches - Left to Right: Bronze Scandal Eyes Liner, Cork Eye Shadow, Rubenesque Paint Pot, Viva Glam V Lipstick)

Once again I'm so sorry this has gone up so late and there's not really been any posts being uploaded, but hopefully now things will change! I think I'm going to be uploading every other day for a while too as I have so many posts to share with you!
