January Glossybox

Hi Guys,

The first Glossy Box of 2014! Plus Glossybox has had a makeover to well make it more Glossy! I have to admit I really love the old style boxes, I think this new style is more Birchbox in design, I like the new design but the old style will always have a place in my heart!

This months Glossybox theme is Back to Basic's and looking at it, keeping fit, A very common new years resolution, I cant say its one I'm very good at, I'm too much of a chocoholic haha. The actual Glossy Mag this month is quite different, with fitness tips and smoothie ideas, I do like the sounds of that!

When I got my Glossybox it did seem to be rather light, which never really seems like a good thing...

1) Vaseline Essential Moisture Lotion - £4.99 for 400ml
This fits the theme as I guess most people would consider it a basic, I like how its a good size for traveling with but wish it was just that little bit bigger, it smells nice and its something I'll use.

2) The Vintage Company Floral Slanted Tweezers- £8
I'm quite pleased to see these in the box,as my make up collection is where tweezers go to die, I've seen a few bits on the blogs and in Magazines about the Vintage Cosmetic Company, never tried anything but these do seem like really nice, pretty as well, slanted, weighty tweezers.

3) Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream - £13.50 for 33g
I've heard about this before as it seems to be quite the cult product, its never been something I think I'd pick up, but I'm excited to try it now I have it. I have very dry skin and this has a high glycerin content in it, so I'm hoping it'll help with hydration. I do wish the tubes were a little bit bigger but you do get two instead.

4) Antomicals Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer Wake - Up Under Eye Patches - £6 for 3 per pack
Antomicals products always have some of the best names but also the longest! I'm excited to try these after seeing Lilly Pebbles talk about a more expensive version, I've been intrigued by these types of eye patches, I really hope I like these and I think this could be my favorite thing in the whole box!

5) Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash- £10.25 for 250ml
I've had a few Balance Me products to try due to past Glossyboxes and magazines, but this has to be my favorite thing yet. I do love a good bath and you can use this as a Bubble bath, it does break my heart when I look at the price and I thought Lush can be expensive! I wish it was slightly bigger but it smells so good!

Overall I cant say its the best Glossybox I've ever seen, but the new design is growing on me and when you break it down the products inside really aren't that bad and are things I'd use.

My Top 5 Cleansers!

Hi Guys,

Today I have a slightly different post as I don't usually post about skincare! But I'm taking part in the 2014 Blogger Challenge! Even though I may of missed the first topic due to not having much time at the start of this month... oops... Then the fact that I've missed this topic by over a week due to working and college non stop, my blog has had to take a back seat. So I thought I'd share this post anyway seeing as I was going to, anyway Topic 2 is all about Skincare! So I thought why not show you these cleansers I've been loving and four out of five are great for this time of year too!

I've just realized too, every single Cleanser in this is high end... But I do find the more you pay for it, the longer it lasts and the better it works. It can take me from six months to a year to get through a bottle of one of these cleansers depending which one it is! So they really do work out cheaper than cheaper Cleansers in the long run!

1) Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser - £18 HERE
This is the first ever proper cleanser I tried, its like a cream that you massage all over your face, then add water and it foams up and washes off. It does take a bit of effort on a tired night but it really cleans. Foaming Cleansers are always a bit hit and miss as some people find they strip your skin too much, I do find though its rather quick and leaves my skin feeling nice and clean afterwards.

2) Clarins Water Comfort One Step Cleanser - £19.50 HERE
I did a review of this a few months back - HERE, This could be my new lazy night favorite cleanser, I suck at taking my make up off at night and this is brilliant! Stick it on a cotton pad and just wipe away all your make up, Ill use it to take off the bulk of my eye make up too and then eye make up remover for my mascara. You could probably take all your make up off with just this though.

3) Clarins Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs - £18 HERE
This is a repurchase, as my first bottle lasted me a year, give or take! I've just ran out and I love it too much not to have another bottle. It's another Lazy night cleanser, but I find its more moisturizing than the one step cleanser, but it is a lot thicker obviously as its a milk so It's bound to be. Again its just another one to stick on a cotton pads and wipe away my make up with.

4) Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Foaming Cleanser / Purifying Mask - £22 HERE
This is the newest of the bunch for me, its also the first ever cleanser I've come across that's also a mask, I quite like this idea, I've not tested it out much but seeing as my skin is quite combination sometimes this cleanser is great, its like the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser as well its foaming but it makes a great mask and leaves my skin feeling great afterwards.

5) Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm - £21 HERE
This is one of the most expensive of the bunch and I'd say the most luxurious, This one is rather raved about, after hearing a model recommends had tried it, I had to pick it up. It baffled me at first as its like a hard I don't even know, solid balm. Which then melts in the heat of your hands into an oil, which melts away your make up and leaves your skin feeling so soft, Its defiantly more of a night time cleansers unlike the rest.

I hope you enjoyed this post, its a little different for me to be posting skincare, Let me know if you like it though as I might do more!

Revlon Colorburst Matte and Lacquer Balms!

Hi Guys,

I've been so excited for these to launch in the UK! Now they're here!, Plus they're a week early! They technically don't launch in the UK till the 22nd of January, but they're online at Boots.com and I found some in store!

Theyve brought out two new types to go with the originals, Matte and Lacquer. There are in the Matte Range and then in the Lacquer Range, I think I may have a new love in these!

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in 105 Demure

Demure is a very sheer light pink and after looking at one or two of these in store they seem to have a slight shimmer in the bullet, when swatched though its not like a shimmer and glitter overload it just looks glossy and shiny sort of like a gloss, basically exactly what it says on the tin. The packaging is lovely, I'd say they definitely look more high end than they are. The only downside is they're a nightmare to photograph haha!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 205 Elusive

Out of the Matte offerings I picked up Elusive which is more creamy and just what it says, matte. The packaging a long side it is also matte, which I love, I do find it doesn't slip when you hold it as much, not that that's usually a problem anyway. The actual shade for me is just sort of like a your lips but better yet matte shade haha. its a light Rosie pink, I'd say its more brown toned.

(Swatches: Left to Right - Demure and Elusive)

I really want to pick up Complex from the Matte Line which is a nude and Standout also Matte which is a red, but do I really need another red matte lipstick? I will definitely need to get my hands on Complex though! They both also have a peppermint scent to them which is rather nice.

Both are available at Boots.com for £7.99 - HERE

Prairie Charms!

Hi Guys,

The other week I got an email from the brand Prairie Charms, Letting me know about their mini surprise boxes for their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. So I went onto the website and had a look at what they did as to be honest I didn't really know. I found some of the loveliest little Jewelry and Hair Accessories, that are all hand made, so for £5 a box I couldn't say no.

In the box you get roughly £30 worth of things, I also got a Moam sweet, but ate it before I photographed everything! Sorry! You get asked what you like and they pick the items on what you've said, which I think is a great idea! This is what I got in my box...

Firstly I opened the two little clip bows, I cant find these exact ones on the website but I think they're the Accent Bows, Which you can find HERE. These bows are on a crocodile clip and are a rather sturdy fabric, I love the pattern of these with the stars. As you may know I suck with my hair, I think these would look lovely though at the end of a plait or I think they could even clip onto dress straps!

Next I got this lovely Bow Headband, which I love! Again I cant find this exact print, but I think I've found one similar HERE. These are the bow Fascinator's, there's three different prints on the site at the moment! I cant wait until the weather picks up a bit and I can wear this, Its not something I'd usually choose but I just want to wear it all the time! Again its a really sturdy fabric and the band is a one size fit's all band due to it being elastic!

Lastly I got this wrap bracelet, Which I think is my favorite item! Its the Multi Wrap on the site, You can wear it as a wrap bracelet, Headband, Necklace or even a Clutch Wristlet. I love the colour of this and its probably going to be my most worn item! The stars are lovely too and now I really want the mint version that's also on the site, which you can find HERE

From the sounds of Prairie Charms tweets, they may be doing another box for the Spring 14 collection, which I'm looking forward to! Make sure to go and visit the site HERE as there are so many beautiful and pretty accessories, even wrapping items!

Lush Sale Haul!

Hi Guys,

This is a little late, seeing as I did plan to put this post up probably around a week ago, But its Lush and its never too late for Lush! Basically I always have an excuse to do anything that involves Lush, (Lush Addict as you can probably already tell from my insane amount of rambling about them on here...). Anyway this is what I picked up in their recent sale!

I picked up a few individual pieces and then a set, I also got another set that I've sort of included as a Christmas present/ Prize too.

Firstly out of the individual bits I picked up a few I haven't tried yet, some new favorites and some old in the form of...

So White Bath Ballistic -  This is the apple scented one, that this year changes pink! Which is new, but this is an old favorite as its so fresh and I accidentally added four to my basket and got a little carried away...

The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar - If you've read my past post's on my blog you'll know this little guy, He's one of the Lush Bubble Bars and has the scent of their Olive Branch Shower Gel, He's extremely cute and I couldn't not stock up!

Hagen Bath Bath Ballistic - I have never heard of this, I don't even think I've seen it? I've got a feeling its from the Retro Range from Lush? All I know is it smells good and reminds me of mints, anyone know anything else about it? haha

Rose Jam Shower Gel - I sniffed this in store and loved it! I think its new, but oh my god it smells like jammie dodgers to me. anyone else think that? I really don't want to run out of this, it smells too good to be limited edition!

Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt - I always put off getting this at Christmas time due to the fact it covers your bath in glitter and my mum would of killed me for making such a mess, So when my mum got me two I don't think she realised the mess it makes either... I'm excited to try it though as well its glittery and turns your bath turquoise and its a nice smelling bath melt!

I then also picked up the Sweet Christmas Gift Set as all the Gift sets were half price as well as individual Christmas products, I did get a couple of things twice, like the Rose Jam Shower Gel, but I also got quite a few things I've not had in ages or never even tried before! In this set there was..

Bubblegum Lip Scrub and Honey Trap Lip Balm - I've tried Lush Lip Scrubs before previously, all being limited edition, I've heard a lot of bloggers raving about this one in Bubblegum so hopefully I'll like this one too. I had Honey Trap Lip Balm years and years ago from Lush, Its nice to see it in here as I really used to like it, I didn't even know they still made it!

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar - You've probably seen this a lot on my blog as I've accumulated quite a lot of them, its a really sweet bubble bar which I usually don't go for, but as it smells like snow fairy I rather like it.

Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly - This is another product I haven't had in years! I used to love this when I was younger, Lush really know how to make something different! You can use this to wash your hair as well as a soap, so its useful as well as fun.

Think Pink Bath Ballistic - This is one I've seen over the years yet never actually tried and I'm not sure why, It reminds me of one of the old Easter bath ballistics that was like an egg. It also reminds me of Marshmallows.

Magic Wand Bubble Bar - Another genius product from lush, a bubble bar that's reusable! I was always put off by the price tag of this, but when your using it like 5 to 6 times it really makes it worth it! I think I may have to pick up the spring version's for mothers day of this!

Sultana of Soap - Ive never tried this before I think, I also cant find anything about in the magazine, It smells really nice and is very soft and creamy, it reminds me of the Christmas soap Snowflake.

I actually won this gift set in a giveaway from the Rebel in The Details, I thought I'd save it as a Christmas Present and what a great one it is at that! So thank you so much for having the giveaway!

Snow Fairy Shower Gel - Probably one of the most raved about Shower Gel's in the universe of Shower Gel! They need to make this permanent eventually, It's too loved not to be!

Rockstar Soap - This is another product I haven't had in years, Its great to have it again and now maybe I'll have to start buying it more often.

Snow Fairy Sparkle Massage Bar - I picked this up in the shop and it melts to quickly! aka why its still in the bag haha, I really cant wait to try this as it seemed lovely in store. I just cant bare to ruin the little angel!

Space Girl Bath Ballistic - My all time favourite Bath Ballistic from lush! Its sparkly and smells like parma violets! Thank you Lush for keeping it permanently!

I hope you've liked this rather unexpectedly long post! Oops...

December Favourites!

Hi Guys,

Sorry its been so long since my last post! Christmas Eve to be exact, If you follow me on twitter or seen in my previous post, I was working over Christmas and literally had no free time to really sit down and blog unfortunately. But now I've planned out a bit of a schedule and some posts so hopefully that wont happen again! I also got a camera for Christmas so hopefully the pictures will be a lot better! Also and finally this is my 100th blog post too! It doesn't seem like its been 100 haha.

Anyway today's post is a super late December Favorite, I was thinking of doing a 2013 Favorite's post but I'm not sure, Let me know if you'd like to see one though.

This is a bit of a surprising favorite for me, as I would never of thought to try Alberto Balsam Shampoo's but I'd ran out of shampoo so my mum put this in a Sainsburys order and it is probably one of the best shampoos I've ever used! I've tried everything from Tresemme to Trevor Sorbie and this is my favorite. The smell lasts in my hair and its so much cheaper!

I've been working for Estee Lauder and have gotten to try the new perfume Modern Muse, I must admit I'd never of tried Estee Lauder Perfumes before working there but this has won me over! I've worn it more than my beloved Florabotanica by Balenciaga this month! It's very subtle, fresh and floral. Its great in the day although saying that It could be worn in the evening too.

My favorite polish this month has been the Models Own Absinthe color from the Velvet Goth Range, I got at the Clothes Show Live and wore it all of December not including the weeks I had Gel Nails on though. Its different to the Liquid Sand Polishes a lot of companies are coming out with at the moment, It looks great with a clear polish over the top too, it makes it more sparkly!

I don't usually include brushes in my favorites, but this month I discovered the brush I bought from Bdellium Tools back in July from IMats. I hadn't really used it much till December, but I've found its great just for blending out the crease and is a lot like a MAC 217, Which I need to get my hands on!

Another Brush I've been loving has been the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, Which every beauty blogger seems to rave about, I've used this everyday for months now, But in December I actually started to use it just for foundation and fell in love with applying my foundation this way all over again. As I've liked quite a sheer base this month so this has been a great tool.

My final favorite of December has to be the eye shadow in Woodwinked by MAC, I cant actually remember any day in December I didn't have this on. Its a great color for a bronzed yet golden eye and on blue eyes it looks great! I only ever really wear this shade at this time of year. Its also great as when you blend it out it sort of becomes more matte resulting in a shade for your crease, aka one shadow for a very quick look!

(Swatches: Top to Bottom - MAC Woodwinked, MAC Woodwinked Blended)

I hope you had a great new year too and hopefully 2014 is going to be a more organised blog so there's going to be lots to look forward to! Including I'm hoping to put up another Giveaway once I reach 150 Bloglovin followers too, So maybe soon there'll be another giveaway on the horizon!
