Glossybox June 2016

Hi Guys,

I feel like its been forever since I've written a Glossybox related post, but to be honest, even if I had of been blogging regularly for the past few months. I don't think the past few boxes would of been worthy of a post, unfortunately they've just not wowed me. But I have hope for June, it looks like it's going to be a good one...

I had seen last month briefly, that Glossybox wanted to focus on going back to their roots. To go back to the basis of offering something new, wether its a new brand or higher end product that you possibly wouldn't go out and purchase without trying beforehand. 
 The box itself houses four full sized products, one sample size and also a little extra bonus treat as well. It really focuses on skincare this month and is definitely packed full of products to get ready for Summer.

Ladival Sun Protection Spray SPF15 - £19.99 for 150ml

This is actually one of the things that I am most excited about in the box, as I've just booked to go on holiday and have become a teeny weeny bit obsessed over SPF. I'm on the hunt for the best ones, so I will definitely be giving this a good test run! It has no scent to it and is really light in texture, so it rubs into the skin really easily and leaves no sticky residue either. Plus it has protection against UVA, UVB and Infrared A Rays, while also protecting against four times the amount of sun rays compared to other SPF's. 

De Bruyere After Sun - £9.48 for 50ml

To go along with the SPF, it seems appropriate to have an After Sun in the box as well. I love the scent from this, for some reason it reminds me of those retro sweetie necklaces you used to get as a kid. Though after further inspection of the tube, it is actually coconut, so I have no idea how I thought it smells like sweeties! It's a milk consistency, so it feels lovely and cooling on the skin, especially after a day out in the sun.

Emite Makeup Lip & Cheek Tint - £12.50 for ml

I actually thought at first that this product was a gorgeous wine liquid lipstick, however after actually opening it up, it is in fact an oil. Lip Oils are becoming all the range recently and this one also tints the lips or the cheeks too. I think I prefer this on the lips for a really natural stain, although I think with the right amount it could look really lovely as a subtle flush to the cheek over a dewy foundation. It also has such a lovely rose scent, which I think you'll either love or hate. 

Spa to You Konjac Sponge - £6.99

Konjac Sponges have been around for years now and yet I've still never tried one. I remember a few years ago, when I first started reading blogs and watching youtube they were going through a bit of a phase. However that seems to of died down over the years, but maybe they're now making a comeback! A Konjac Sponge is basically a really soft sponge, which can hold a large amount of water and exfoliates the skin gently. 

Origins Gin Zing Eye Cream - £20 for 15ml

This is another one that I love the fact its been included in this month's box, although it seems like a teeny sample, its a third of the size of the full size tub. Gin Zing is such a popular range for Origins, due to its brightening properties. This eye cream in particular, leaves you looking fresh and awake after dabbing the gel like formula gently under the eye area.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Constructor Deep Conditioner - £1.09 for 20ml

As a bonus product this month, this little sachet was included. I will admit Im really rubbish when it comes to using conditioner and I really need to change that. Aussie is such a popular haircare brand, that I don't actually think I have ever tried. So this is my chance to boost the condition of my hair and give them a go too. It's made to target damaged hair, using Australian Balm Mint to add shine to the hair and leave it feeling a lot more manageable. 

I think overall its really not a bad box this month, nothing in there that I won't get use of and I'm really excited to try most of these products this month, unlike previous boxes recently.

November Glossybox: Lashes & Lipsticks

Hi Guys,

This months Glossybox marks 4 years of being subscribed to them, which has gone a bit too quick for my liking. But for me as well as being a bit of a treat, it also seems to remind me that it's either the middle of the month or near the end. Which knowing its November is a bit terrifying, as I haven't even started the Christmas shopping! 

I adore this month's theme of the box and I have to say the contents suit it perfectly. It's based on Lashes and Lips, which is always a great makeup look to focus on at this time of year. A simple eye with a dark berry lip, or even a slightly smokier one with a nude or pink, its a classic! 

Eylure Naturalites Lashes - £5

As Im not a big false lash wearer myself, I do always keep an eye out for lashes that I can wear to get used to the feeling of them. The Eylure Naturalite range is one I've seen before and never tried, so Im really looking forward to giving them a go. I think they're great because they're such a light lash, they naturally give that little bit of added volume to the lash line and have a thin band, making them comfortable to wear. 

MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Undressed - £4

I've tried quite a few MUA Palettes in the past and for the price, the quality is fantastic. They're creamy, offer a great range of shades and have a fantastic amount of pigment to the. This palette has actually reminded me to dig out some old favourites and get back to using them. It's also pretty good at being a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette, with the shades being near identical. 

Royal Apothic Moisturising Body Creme - £14.50 for 35g

I dont know if it's just me, but I find the packaging that Royal Apothic have is so cute. I was a bit surprised to see it was a body cream though as it is quite a tiny tube, compared to the usual body creams. 

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry - £7.99

I could of squealed with delight when I got an email through from Glossybox asking me to choose which lipstick colour I would prefer in my box out of four. Which included probably one of the most popular shades that Revlon have, Black Cherry. I have heard so much about this one, but again its something else that I have never actually gone and picked up. It's such a gorgeous deep darkened berry, perfect for the Autumn/Winter. 

Emite Diamond Heart Illuminating Primer - £25.50 for 15ml

There have been quite a few products from Emite in Glossybox and every single one that I've had the opportunity to try, I have loved. From their makeup to their tools and brushes, they have a fantastic range to pick from. The primer itself is peachy in tone, but brightening, it adds such a radiance to the skin, but its not shiny. I love a slightly dewier look in the winter, as the skin can look duller, it's like a little makeup pick me up.

Overall I'm really happy with the box this month, I always love a box that's that bit more makeup orientated. It might not be the highest in value box, compared to past ones, with the overall total of the box coming to £31.49 . But the actual selection of products and the fact that there are four out of five full sized products included, its a brilliant one to try.

GlossyBox August

Hi Guys,

 Glossybox August has gone global, now I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, but I think the last two August boxes have also gone global. I think its quite a nice little tradition to carry on each year. 

This month the box has also specially collaborated with SASS, which is featured in the box, as well as having a golden ticket hidden in two boxes. Unfortunately I didn't find one, but I think whenever Glossybox runs contests like that, it makes getting your box that bit more exciting.

The amount of product actually in this months box is fantastic, with four out of the five products being full sized and the fifth is a very large trial size. I think the overall total worth of this months box is also over £53 which is not bad for the £13 price of Glossybox.

NAOBAY Calming Face Toner - £10.65 for 200ml

I was so excited to see this in the box, as I am firstly such a sucker for their packaging. It feels so heavy and luxurious, but its got such a sleek design. Anyway the product itself is a calming toner, which has a citrus scent and contains chamomile, which is definitely a very soothing ingredient. Im really looking forward to giving this a good test run. I also didn't realise the company is actually Spanish too, you learn something new everyday!

SASS Purifying Cleanser - £7 for 100ml

There was another SASS product included in a previous box a few months ago, but before that I hadn't really heard of the company. This product though is a really gentle and refreshing body wash, but also balances PH levels too.

Emite Artist Colour Powder Blush in 108 - £20.50 for 10g

Ive tried Emite tools before and I love their eyelash curlers and brushes, so Im super excited to get to try a makeup product from them now too. They are actually a Swedish brand, which have featured in Glossybox a few times and are always welcome in my opinion. This month Glossybox had a vote off between blusher or a brush, the blush won, bringing us this little guy! I'd say its a hybrid between a blush and a bronzer, making it a great multi use powder. Also because of the redish undertone to it, its going to look beautifully natural, almost like a natural tan.

Me Me Me Lip Glide in Playful Peach - £6.95

Me Me Me is a popular brand for Glossybox, but I've recently been using quite a few of their products from previous boxes and have been loving them. So I'm excited to give this one a go too and hopefully I'll like it as much as the others. It's also surprising how much of a difference there is in the look of it on the skin and in the tube. But I love the beautiful velvet finish to it as usually the more drugstore pencils are glossy.

Manna Kadar Lash Conditioning Primer - £14.55 for 4g
I think the last time I used a Lash Primer, it was a good four years ago, with a double ended cheap mascara. So I am intrigued to see how this one works, as I would rather not relive the double ended mascara days. I also hadn't heard of the American company before, but after having a look on their website it seems like quite a nice little brand. I think I may have to do some more research on how to get hold of it over here, as it seems their only stockist is in NYC!

I'm actually really pleased with this months box, It was a surprise to have such a weighty box arrive and its been well worth the subscription for this one. I'm dying to go and give the Blush and Toner a good trail run now too!
