Clinique Chubby Stick Intense

Hi Everyone,

I've been trying to find the best time to post this, what with the MUA Power Pouts being realised I wanted to space them out. I never really fell into the Hype of the Clinique Chubby Sticks, My Mum, Aunt and Cousin seemed to like them, but It wasn't until a month ago until I finally gave in...
I had seen this colour pop up quite a bit on the amazing Pixi2woo's Video's, So I told myself I just had to go see it in person. I finally got round to doing it and I fell in love, Unlike the original Chubby Sticks this is a Chubby Stick Intense, The difference?

Well the Chubby Stick Intense's are just jam packed full with pigment while still being really moisturising on the lips, You can use a tiny bit and sheer it out, or still only use a little bit and get a really bold colour!
I got the Colour Heftiest Hibiscus Which is kind of a very Orange Red, Now I tend to steer clear of orange and I don't really wear Red either so this was a little out of the comfort zone. Even though I love a bright lip, But I took the plunge after having my favourite Clinique Girl test it out on me and bought it.

When trying it on I was told that It does come out as more of a red on some people and more of an orange on others, For me its more of a red shade which I was quite pleased about.
The packaging is quite heavy compared to the cheaper versions, I love the the metal Cap and bottom as it makes it look expensive and for the price I think the packaging should be sturdy and luxurious.

Overall I think this has encouraged me to try colours I'm not used to and venture out into oranges and reds instead of constant pink, I think its worth the price as it lasts for so long on the lips and fades nicely, while still moisturising for quite a while after application.

They are £16.00 and are available at Boots, also in 7 other colours too.

Have you tried the Chubby Stick Intense's? Do you think the high street versions are just as good? I may do a comparison post of the different Chubby Sticks and they're Cheaper Alternatives too.

Barry M Nail Art Pens

Hey Everyone,

I wasn't sure whether or not to do a post about these, as If you follow me on twitter you'll know I won these the other week in a Barry M comp. So as I hadn't bought the I wasn't sure whether or not to post, as I dont mean it in a bragging way,but they are so good I think they deserve one so here we go..
I used to do a lot of nail art when I was younger, but I kind of fell out of doing it over the past year or so, So when I heard about these I knew I'd have to get them and give them ago. So I was going to go off and buy them and then noticed Barry M were having a twitter competition, So I gave it a go not thinking I'd win because I'm usually rubbish at that kind of contest on twitter, But I won!

As soon as they got here I knew I'd have to try them straight away and this is what I found when using them...
They come in four different colours, Black, Pink, Silver and White. I know I'll get a lot of use out of the black , white and silver but the pink surprised me. They have nib applicator  I'd say kind of like a felt tip pen, Which is very different to a lot of nail art pens on the market.

You have to pump the tip down a few times until the polish is dispersed towards the tip, Make sure you shake them well too before hand!
You can do lots of different things with them, I thought I'd demonstrate on paper first because then you can see the line thickness. I didn't use the white as I didn't think it would show up on the paper anyway in the first place.

I found them very easy to work with, they applied really nicely and dried very quickly. However you must use a top coat once you've finished your design on each nail otherwise it will come off!
I had a little play around with them over Essie Bikini so Teeny, I could of been more patient and imaginative but I was just too excited!

I really love the idea of these pens and I'm so grateful to Barry M for the Contest on twitter, So thanks again Barry M! I've found them so easy to work with unlike other nail art pens and I'm sure these will get a lot of use!

They are available in Boots , Superdrug and Barry M right now for £4.99, Plus they're currently on 3 for 2 in Superdrug!

Have you tried these pens? What did you think? What are your favourite nail art pens? I'd love to hear nail art suggestions!

April GlossyBox

Hi Everyone,

My April Glossybox came today, after many days of me going on about "is it here yet!", it was definitely worth the wait, as I absolutely love it even before I opened the box!

This months box was designed by Pearl Lowe, Daisy Lowe's Mum, It's a lovely peach floral box, this is probably my favourite glossy box design so far, even the leaflet and the sticker included the print!

I must admit I could of cried when I opened this box, It has to be one of my most favourite ones yet, Glossybox have done a brilliant job with this one.

1) Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy (£14 for 100g) I've never heard of Crabtree & Evelyn, Although my mum seemed excited by it. It's a handy little hand cream to chuck In your bag, I tried it earlier and it was good and smells very floral.

2) Nip + Fab Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Pistachio (£9.95 for 200ml) I was really excited when I saw this, I've heard such good things about this but I've never tried it, The only downside I can't stand nuts, So pistachio didn't really appeal to me, I had a quick sniff and I guess the smell could be bearable, but I'm looking forward to trying this.

3) Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Hex (£13 for 1g) This product could of made me cry, I love Illamasqua! I have 3 other Medium Pencils and they're all so soft and versatile, This is a really nice nude sort of colour, It could be good on the water line, I'm not too sure about a nude lip liner too.

4) Yves Rocher France So Elixir Purple Eau De Parfum (£44 for 50ml) I've had Yves Rocher products before from glossy box, I like the little bottle, But I'm not sure I'm really a fan of the scent, It might grow on me though.

5) Essie Nail Lacquer in Bikini So Teeny (£7.99 for 13.5ml) Another product That could of made me cry, I've got it on my nails just now and I surprisingly love the colour. The brush is so thick, as I've only had old Essie polishes before, I think this could be a new favourite!

(Swatches: left to right - Illamasqua Hex, Essie Bikini So Teeny)

Last Months Favourites:

I've been loving Juicy Couture La La Fragrance over the past month, I love the floral and slight citrus scent to it, Its been really fresh and great for spring. Next Ive Been loving Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, Its such a cult product I've wanted to try for ages, I burnt my lip a few days ago and this has been such a saviour, Its a brilliant multitasking product, I'm tempted to go and buy the full size of both of these products especially the Eight Hour Cream.

This has to be my Favourite ever Glossybox I've received, I'll definitely get good use out of it.

How did you love Glossybox this month?

Sinful Colors

Hi everyone,

Sorry this is late, my computer has finally given up! I've been so excited since I found out sinful colors had arrived in the UK, I went straight off to so many boots only to find they'd practically sold out at each one, but I finally got a hold of some!

Nail Junkie- This one surprised me, I liked it in the bottle but on the nails I love it! Plus the name completely drew me in, I am a complete Nail Junkie. It's a jelly polish, green and packed full of holographic glitter in green/gold and silver, I can see this becoming a new favourite, I'd go with 2-3 coats.

Kissy- A green-blue jelly with tons of gold shimmer, this one is different to anything I already have, for the price I thought I might as well pick it up. I thought it was alright with 2 coats but it might be the best with 3.

Mint Apple- This one I was most excited to pick up, due to my mint obsession! It's a shimmery green, the shimmer is gold which makes it very different to any of my other mint polishes, I like it but I can't say it's my favourite. It's good with about 1-2 coats.

Pink Glitter- I was desperate to get this one, but every boots I went to was sold out, so when I saw one lurking on a shelf the other day I grabbed it quick and I love it, it's a jelly glittery pink, the glitter is holographic and it also has a holographic shimmer to it, I like it with 2 maybe 3 coats.

Glass Pink - I picked this one up as I don't really have anything like it, It's a very sheer polish which I wasn't really expecting, it's a lovely shimmery pink colour, but I think it really needs 3-4 coats until its opaque.

(All the swatches are 2 thin coats)

I can't wait to get my hands on more! The colour selection is really good and the wear on them is amazing for £1.99, I had Mint Apple on for 5 days till it started to chip with no topcoat!

I'm extremely impressed with these and will probably end up with even more, you can get them in the UK finally here.

Have you tried Sinful Colors? What do you think and which are your favourites?

MUA Power Pout

Hi Everyone,

I'm back! Sorry for the longer than expected break, I just didn't know what to blog about and got in a bit of a blogging muddle. But yesterday I ran out for these, The new MUA Power Pouts, Ive been desperate to get these and they've reignited my blogging ideas!
Runway - This is the red of the group, Id say its more of a orange based red, I struggle with reds and with orange so I'm hoping this will be a colour that will suit me, because I fell in love when swatching it.
Irreplaceable - This one is a Baby Pinky Violet, This is quite a nice colour for spring and just a natural pink kind of look for the daytime too.

Crazy in Love - This has to be my favourite from the whole collection, probably joint with Broken Hearted, Its a lovely Raspberry Red/Pink Colour which I kinda wish I had back around the winter time and not spring, But I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of this one.

Justify - Is the Orange of the group, I'm not a big fan of orange lips as I just don't think they suit me but I love this colour, It might sway me to the orange bandwagon!
Rendezvous - Rendezvous was the one I was most scared off, But it happily surprised me, I thought it would be one of those nudes that just washes you out. But I found it was more of those my lips but better shade, Its more of a peachy nude.
Broken Hearted - This one is one of my favourites from the whole collection, Its a lovely dark pink, One of my all time favourite lip colours, so I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of this one!
I wasn't expecting these to be quite so pigmented, which is a plus. They have a really nice minty smell and taste but that doesn't last too long I found. They feel really moisturising on, I wasn't expecting it at first, They did keep my lips moisturised for quite a while, Which is a achievement with my super dry lips. Plus the colour range is pretty good and varied.

I love the packaging, The only downside is the lid isn't very secure on some, My Runway has taken a hit for the worse after being dropped... oops. So just watch out, I'm not sure if it is just my one though.

Overall I think Ive fallen in love with yet another lip product... oops :/ .
These are great value though at £3 and are available here.

Have you tried any of these? Which one is your favourite?

Spring Nail Polish Picks!

Hi Everyone,

Today I thought Id share my favourite nail polishes for spring time, with a few classic kind of spring shades and some that are more fitting for the Spring 2013 Trends
Firstly is GreenBerry by Barry M, As you may already know from my last post, I'm a HUGE fan of mint nail polish, So there's no surprise there's one in my Spring Picks! GreenBerry is from the Hi-Shine Gelly Range, Which is great for that Gel Nail look and its just a classic Green spring shade which can be worn every year!
o
Next is also another spring shade that pops up every year, The Baby/Pale Pink, This one is Nails Inc Elizabeth Street. This is a really sheer polish, Id say the most sheer out of all of them. (all swatches are 2 coats), this could also be used in a french Manicure way too.
This is Jo'Mina (Not sure why it says Jo on the Bottle) by Illamasqua and this is a great pastel but bold Lilac/Purple nail polish for Spring. Its a really easy shade and goes on perfectly with 1-2 coats.
Metallic Manicures seem to be quite a trend this year, So Ive chosen Rage by Orly, Its a amazing rose gold sort of colour, which I love to bits (Was my prom choice). I did seem to smudge it somehow looking back at the swatch (sorry), But its perfect in just 2 coats and dries pretty quickly too.
Another Huge trend this year is the Neutral Manicure, Ive chosen My Vampire is Buff by O.P.I, This is a bit of a different neutral its a bit grey-ish in tone, It goes on ok in 1-2 coats, It may need 3 though. It is limited edition though so if you like it grab it fast, I struggled to find it too.
Lastly is Bubblegum by Models Own,  This is to tie in with the Neon Trend that seems to be popping up around spring time as well as summer, This colour also dries to a matte finish (another trend), I'm very sad as I write this though as I just smashed my bottle of it, So I'm off to get a new one :( , It goes on like the others in 2 coats as well.
So these have been my nail Polish picks this Spring, You can find the links of where to get them all here:

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in GreenBerry £3.99
Nails Inc Nail Polish in Elizabeth Street - £11.00
Illamasqua Nail Polish in Jo'Mina - £13.50
Orly Nail Polish in Rage - £5.00
O.P.I Nail Lacquer in My Vampire is Buff - £7.45
Models Own Ice Neon Nail Polish in Bubblegum - £5.00

What are your favourite Spring Colours? Which are your favourite Spring 2013 nail trends?
