A Sunshine Award!

Hey Guys,

The other week I found out that the lovely Ebony from Ebony J Beauty My Way had nominated me for the Sunshine Award, which is basically a way for bloggers to share their love for each others blogs as to be nominated for a Sunshine Award you send it to a blogger who you find positive, whose blog you love to read, that you find creative and inspiring too. So I was very shocked and surprised to find out I'd been nominated for one! So thank you so much Ebony!

The Rules:
List 11 facts about yourself
Answer the 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you
Nominate 11 bloggers you feel deserve this award
Write 11 questions for them to answer in their award post
Let your 11 bloggers know you have nominated them

My 11 Facts

1.   I don't like to drink hot drinks and cant stand the taste of coffee unless its in a cake, or tea!
2.   I'm 5'11, which made me one of the tallest in my year at school, yet the youngest!
3.   I used to have a pair of Doc Martens style Clark's Boots covered in Smarties, which would have to be surgically removed to get me out of them!

11.   I have only ever broken one bone, My big toe!

The 11 Questions Ebony Created:

1. What do you think makes you different from other bloggers?
To be honest I cant think of anything that truly makes me different, there are so many bloggers out there today, your never going to be truly different. you cant say that your different when lots of other bloggers may do the exact same as you. I just hope that you love my blog as much as you love the similar ones to me.

2. Was there ever a time you thought about quitting?
No never, I have times where I get so busy I lose my inspiration for new posts, but I've never thought about quitting I enjoy what I do too much!

3. What time of day do you find yourself blogging the most?
I mostly find myself adding the last few bits at around 11am to 1pm, which is typical seeing as I try to get my blog posts up at either 12pm or 12.30pm haha.

4. What is your favorite makeup essential?
My favourite essential will have to be foundation, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect one and I own so many I'm such a perfect base junkie! I have a serious foundation problem lol!

5. What do you think you could do to make your blog better?
I'd love to make my photos better and just the way I write, sometimes I think I'm so boring when I'm explaining something or I ramble way too much! But I would really love to improve my photos they annoy me so much!

6. What music are you obsessed with at the moment?
Anything by Hobbie Stuart! No question about it, he was in my favourites and has been my favourite for ages now, I just listen to his songs on repeat for hours on end!

7. What do you do when you can't think of anything to write about?
Usually panic and look for a Tag or something to blog about, sometimes I just get such a blogging block and its really frustrating because I hate not to regularly upload.

8. What was the first beauty product you ever used?
Even though my first beauty product I remember is the Sugar Babes Kit, I cant really remember what was exactly in that, I do remember wearing a Mary Kate and Ashley Purple Loose Eye Shadow though!

9. What is your hair texture like?
Its rather dry and damaged at the moment, had a nightmare with it recently, so I'm really trying to get it back to a good state. It's also like frizz and knot central too!

10. What was your first blog post ever about?
My first blog post was the About Me Tag, I had no clue what to do for my first post and I was super nervous about starting a blog encase no one would ever read it and I was just awful at it! So I settled for the tag so at least if anyone did read it they could get to know me a bit.

11. Do you have an iPhone or an android?
iPhone! As much as I love it to pieces, I could never ever go back to anything else other than an iPhone! It takes really awful photos. You get the odd good one but please apple sort this out.

My 11 Questions:

1. How did you start blogging?
2. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
3. What is the last beauty product that you bought?
4. Which is your all time favourite nail polish?
5. What beauty product do you regret the most buying?

October Favourites

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I'm a bit behind on my blog posts the past few days, I was going to upload one yesterday but I thought I'm better sticking to my plan and put up my Favourites today instead of tomorrow! I tried to mix it up a bit with my favourites this month and my ultimate favourite isn't actually a beauty product either!

Thinking about this month it seems to of gone so fast, then when I think back to the first of October it seemed like so long ago! October meant quite a few new products were brought into my life which I've been loving then those old favourites you never seem to get tired of!

My first favourite is a repurchase this month of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, I'm sure this has been in past favourites, it also has the entire blogging community raving its name! I got shade 1 Fair for the winter months, I don't really change from winter to summer though, I'm very pale all year round! It has great coverage and lasts very well, even longer when you set it though!

The E.L.F Cream Eyeliner has always been a favourite of mine but this month I've been finally trying to master a winged liner and without this I'd still be hopeless... I still cant do it perfectly but this made it so easy to apply on a angled brush. Its pigmented, soft, it doesn't really drag at all and if you mess up its easy to fix, saying that though it lasts amazingly well! Mine has seen better days but has lasted me for so long!

Tangle Teezer! Why did I not get you before October?! I had quite an incident with my hair falling out this month, that's another story though! I ran out to buy this hoping it could help me save my hair a bit and I'm not sure why its taken me so long to purchase it! Its made brushing out my very knotty long hair a lot easier and makes it quicker too, plus its pink! What's not to love!

This time of year for me equals dark colours and green has never been a colour I'm a huge fan of, Mint I love, but any other shades no thank you! Then I picked up Barry M Gelly Hi - Shine in Watermelon for a competition. I thought I'd wear it then and never again, I was wrong! If you follow me on twitter you may of seen me raving about this! I must of had it on for three weeks straight! seeing as I change my polish every four days this is a achievement! I didn't even have to reapply it too often either.

Again during these months I like my dark lips, I've really been loving Matte for a while now too, so I finally took the plunge and bought the Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107, Again I've hardly had it off. I must admit I don't like the scent at all! But once on the lips you cant really notice it, It lasts well, Fades nicely and doesn't dry my lips out either compared to other Matte formulas.

(Swatches: Left to right - Collection Concealer in Fair, Rimmel Lipstick in 107, ELF Cream Liner in Black)

My last monthly favourite and also my ultimate favourite was going to see Hobbie Stuart! If you've been reading for a while I've raved about him a few times, to be honest I like to keep him my own little secret, but he deserves all the success and love and followers! He's a Youtuber and is releasing his album next year, This is the first proper Gig I've ever been to and I loved it! Make sure you check out his channel because he is just amazing! You can find Hobbie's Channel - Here. P.s. I told you I was Pale! Oh and I also have the Rimmel 107 lipstick on in that picture too!

I have tons of blog posts planned for this month and December and also a bit of a giveaway coming up very soon! I hope I can fit it all in hahaha!

Also make sure you go over to Naville at Inspirations I Have None who is holding a great giveaway with OASAP! I'm in love with those jumpers!

Would You Rather Beauty Tag

Hi Everyone,

I have another Tag today, I've really liked doing these recently so when Taylor from Tayscollectionn tagged me to do the Would You Rather Beauty Tag I couldn't really say no! I hope you like them as much as I do and don't find them a boring read though!

Would you rather lose all of your Mascaras, Eye Liners, Lipsticks, and Lip Glosses or lose all of your Palettes and Eye Shadows?

Probably lose all of my eye shadows and palettes!, even though I love them dearly, I can always use eye liner as a shadow.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Probably never be able to cut it again, as I hardly get it cut anyway even though I should!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Pink Cheek for sure! I don't think I'm much of a coral person at all.

If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make-up?

Make Up! No question about it, I'd have such a High End Spree, MAC would love me!

Would you rather apply Lipstick as Eye Liner, or Eye Liner as Lipstick?

Eye liner as a Lipstick, Illamasqua do some great ones that would be great for the lips so it works out ok I think.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

We don't have Sephora in the UK, I'd love to go to one though, So It'll have to be MAC, I do love MAC too though.

Would you rather only use one Eye Shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?

This is difficult at first I thought one eye colour but I couldn't cope with that, Then again I couldn't cope with one lip colour, but it'll have to be one lip colour, I could at least use eye shadow on my lips with that colour to change it anyway?

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

This will have to be Winter Clothes in the Summer, you can at least layer and take some layers off when you get too hot. I'm always cold anyway so oh well.

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Currently I'm really loving dark nails, I don't really wear bright nails anyway except from the odd pink, so it'll have to be dark nails all year round.

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?

I'm going to go for Lip product, I have tons of the same colour in different formulations and types from different brands, so giving up my favourite one just means I have it again by someone else? I bet that's cheating.
..

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

A messy bun! I just can't do them to save my life, or any hair style for that matter...

Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

Never use lip gloss, I'm more of a lipstick person anyway and I couldn't really survive without nail polish, so that's a no brainer.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?

I look weird with pale eyebrows already without having none at all! So I guess I'm going to have to Sharpie them in everyday, you can get fine liner Sharpies? right?

Would you rather live without make-up or nail polish?

As much as I said I couldn't survive without nail polish, I'm going to have to say I'd rather live without it for this one, Make up has got to stay!

I tag you to do this if you have a blog! Plus don't forget to leave me your links if you do it in the comments I'd love to see what you say!

I also specifically tag:

Millie from Hidden Beauty Blog
Katrina from History Never Repeats
Holly from Petit Promise

Clarins The Essentials Palette

Hi Everyone,

I have been desperate to get my hands on this palette, I finally got one after much stress, It's been selling out at counters quickly, so I thought I'd put this up quickly as it seems the counters are getting deliveries of a few so there is still some about!

Part of the Clarins Christmas collection, this palette is a first for Clarins, its similar to the Urban Decay Naked Palette but different shades and packaging.

The packaging for the palette is made of cardboard but it still has a very weighty and luxurious feel to it, the actually insert of the shadows is removable and is made of plastic. With a reasonable mirror in the lid and a elastic strip to close it with.

The actual shades themselves are more of a purple tone, rather than brown based, unlike the naked palette. When I first saw the press release images I thought they were purple, Then other bloggers had them and said they were brown, but after seeing them in person they definitely have a purple tone to some of them. Even if my camera wont pick that up like usual!

The shades aren't named and just number 1-10 which is disappointing, they're shades 1-10 from left to right. It's also a mixture of matte, satin and shimmer shades. The lighter shades (1-3) are definitely sheer, which either you'll love or loathe. There isn't really any drop out from these shadows either but that also means that you have to pack it on slightly to get a lot of pigmentation from some shades.

I'd say that shades 3,7,9 and 10 are the more pink/purple toned shades in the bunch, but I like that they're more purple toned as its different to the Urban Decay Naked Palettes.

Also to go with the palette is a little overlay with the numbers of each shade and two diagrams to suggest ideas of where to place the shades for certain eye looks and quite a nice double ended brush, I'm just glad its not one of those awful applicators!

I think this palette is more of a wearable and sheer version of the naked palettes, its handy and different too.

You can get hold of it still in Boots, Selfridges, Debenhams, John Lewis, Clarins and House of Frazer at £35. There also seems to be a few left at counters if your lucky, as it is selling out pretty quickly!

Eloise x

P.s. Sorry for the awful pictures, the natural lighting is making it very difficult to capture things and I'm not sure how the pictures came out as different sizes!
