August Favourites

Hi Guys,

I really haven't gotten up to much in August, apart from my birthday, starting my new course and having the flu! So my beauty picks haven't been very eventful and I seem to of just been loving the one look, very rare for me!
I've also got a few music favourites in August, I have actually pretty much just stuck with these three artists throughout the month too. I cant actually see myself straying away from them any time soon either, especially as one has started a little bit of a vinyl addiction.
As I haven't been wearing much makeup, I've been loving Bioderma as a quick and easy makeup remover, or even in the morning to quickly sweep all over my face. Its really gentle and removes any traces of makeup so easily, its as if my mascara just melts off with it.

I've also been getting into face masks a little more, as Im really bad at neglecting that part of my skincare routine. So Lush Dont Look at Me Face Mask has been perfect as its such a multi-tasker, I even included it in my Lush Pamper Night. I love that it nourishes the skin as well as exfoliates, its worked wonders on my dry skin.
I am usually a huge highlighter fan and not so much a contour girl, but now that everyone seems to be "strobing" I've gotten into the warm contoured skin. The Illamasqua Sculpting Palette is my go to! It is perfectly versatile and gives you such a realistic shadow with its many tones, you can mix and match to your hearts content until you get your perfect contour shade. Plus the tones looks beautiful and earthy on the eyes too and even though I said I've gone off the highlight... Rush, on the far left, is just too pretty for words!

To add a little overall warmth to the skin, I've been reaching for The Body Shop Honey Bronzer. Being extremely pale, bronzer is something I stay well clear of. However this one in 01 is very subtle, with the right slightly cooler undertones, so it doesn't appear muddy on the skin. I also love that its matte and adds a bit more dimension to the face.
On the eyes this month, I've just loved liner and mascara. Especially lots of liner in the waterline, which is where the Me Me Me Eyeliner in Clay comes in. Its a matte creamy chocolate brown, it adds a subtle definition to the lash line that isn't too harsh, but still makes an impact, defining the eyes.

My mascara of choice has to be Maybelline Lash Sensational, I love the way it adds volume to my lashes, without them appearing clumpy. It also adds that bit of length and really holds a curl well, which is always a struggle with my straight lashes. I'm a huge fan of very defined lashes and this definitely gives that look.
Music wise, I am obsessed with Disclosure and Sam Smith, so the two of them together again to create Omen was perfect. I love when Sam teams up with them as its not necessarily a sound I associate with Sam Smith, but just shows how versatile he is.
I am so obsessed with Hurts at the moment,  I just will not shut up about them. Their new single Lights has been playing on repeat for me ever since it was realised and I just cant get enough. Its such  a different sound for them, if you know Hurts' previous music, but I really love the new direction that they're going in. Plus just watching Theo Hutchcraft dance in this video is great.
Of course I have another Hobbie Stuart song in my favourites, he's been a favourite of mine for many years and hasn't done a single thing I haven't loved, his Hotline Bling and Cant Feel My Face Cover is no exception. Yet another song I cant get out of my head and have had on repeat non stop.

  2. I'm a huge fan of Lash Sensation. It makes my lashes look just as good, if not better, than mascaras I've spent over £20 on!
