What's In My Makeup Bag: IMATS

Hi Guys,

On Friday I am off to London for Imats! Although Im only away for the weekend in London, I do like to have some options as usually I have all my looks planned and this year I don't have a clue what to do with my makeup!
Im also going to Manchester for two weeks too, so I know maybe to some my massive Ted Baker Wash Bag just for my makeup may be obsessive! But I almost feel like Im forgetting half of it haha. I know Im going to pick things up at Imats though so I'll always have even more options.
Base wise Ive pretty much got it streamlined into my favourite combination ever to existed! In the form of my old faithful Illamasqua HydraVeil, I also love this as its been so hot and its a lovely cooling gel. It feels lovely on the skin, especially in London where it keeps my skin hydrated all day too.

Ive learnt my lesson from last year when it comes to foundation for London, as I smashed my new bottle of Nars Sheer Glow in my suitcase! But its not only the fact that Illamasqua Skin Base is housed in a plastic bottle. It's probably my favourite foundation and it doesn't budge all day, great for running round London.

As Ive been loving it so much Im also taking the NARS Creamy Concealer, its just really quick and easy to apply but also has a fantastic coverage too. I also don't find that this moves around very much either and its been really important to me to find long wearing products.

For setting it all Im taking the NARS Light Reflecting Loose Powder, again its just to make everything last as long as I can get it to last. Its such a lightweight powder and the teeniest bit will set your whole face. Although its a little messy as its a loose powder, I don't think I could go without it.
This is where the packing becomes slightly less stream lined, but in my mind two blushers are actually hardly anything, right?

Contour and highlight wise, its just my current go to of the Illamasqua Gel Sculpt Stick in Silhouette and the Sculpting Duo in Lumos and Heliopolis. I could just use Silhouette by itself, but I like to add a little bit more warmth to the skin with Heliopolis and Lumos is the perfect subtle shine shade for highlighting. I also have Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Intrigue as I love a matte white highlight from time to time and it also means I can use this as a white eye shadow too.

Blush wise I wanted a bright and a more neutral shade, just as I don't really know what Im doing makeup wise and this way I have both options covered. For my bright it has to be the Hourglass Ambient Light Blusher in Diffused Heat, which looks really natural on the skin. Neutral wise its got to be Illamasqua Powder Blusher Naked Rose, this is my go to if I don't have a clue what to put on blush wise and also just for something that doesn't take away from the eyes.
Usually during the summer Im all up for a really bright lip and I don't know why, probably the fact that after this heatwave all its done is rain in Scotland! Im gravitating more towards nudes. The only issue is I cant decide on which nude to take as Im currently loving three.

So Ive gone for my trusty Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in Rosepout which I cant imagine ever not having with me. As well as my MAC Lipstick in Crosswires and Velvet Teddy, Crosswires is slightly more orange in tone and Velvet Teddy is definitely brown, so they're not exactly all the same nude shade.

I am taking the Illamasqua Lipstick in Brink, an orange matte shade to pair with Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Absorb, just incase I do decide that I want a slightly brighter lip.
For my Brows Im just taking the Illamasqua Brow Gel in Strike and  Colouring Pencil in Vow, though I usually use brow cake, which is actually in the palette I'm taking. Ive been using my brow gel recently and Im enjoying that slightly more natural brow, but well see how long that lasts... Then Vow is just perfect to sculpt the brows out too and I can use it to brighten the waterline.

For an eye shadow base its the trusty MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot, which I put under everything and if Im using purple, just to boost the colour I like to use the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Dab.

For eyeliner its got to be the Illamasqua Gel Liner in Infinity, as I cant seem to master many other ways of doing eyeliner on myself other than gel. Plus it can be a smoky eye base and line the waterline.

Then finally just to throw in my handbag mainly as its perfect for touch ups and as it has a massive mirror its the Illamasqua Semblance palette. As Im mainly taking bright shadows too, this means Ive got a few neutral options with me just incase.
Shadow wise Im sticking with blues and purples for most of the weekend, I just love these shades as they compliment blue eyes so well. Ive picked the Illamasqua Powder Shadows in Creep, Can Can, Inception and Fatal. Then for a matte brown as I only have a shimmer one in the palette, Im taking Feint.

I also couldn't leave behind the Illamasqua Pure Pigment's in Furore and Ore, to do very summery bronze eyes and also to use Furore as a highlight if I really want blowy skin.

Lastly its Benefit Roller Lash, This just holds the curl in my eyelashes for the longest time and Im really desperate for my lashes to stop being so poker straight at the moment. I might also take the Tanya Burr Bambi Lashes as Im getting into using them, but I don't think Ive entirely sold it to myself yet.

Hopefully this "little" lot will actually give me some ideas of what to do over the weekend, although I know I have many options with it, so Im sure it'll work out!
