An Urban Decay Haul

Hi Guys,

Last month I went along to the Danielle Roberts Urban Decay Masterclass. Danielle is a regional makeup artist for Urban Decay and has recently come back to Scotland after living in London. So I was very excited to get to see her at work and its fair to say it had quite the effect on my bank balance too!
Urban Decay isn't really a brand I've tried, bar the odd palette, of course the Naked Palette! But other than that I've only really tried an eyeliner and the primer potion, although they are great products, they're not always something I reach for. So to be honest I often forget to actually go and have a look at the counter and give other products a go too.
I kept hearing about the Naked Skin Weightless Concealer, it has such a buzz around it at the moment, with everyone just falling in love with it. I'm always up for trying a new concealer, anything to cover the dark circles! Unfortunately the colour I originally picked up is a bit too dark for me, so I've actually added that one to my kit as I have fallen for this concealer too. As it is so light on the skin, but still offers the coverage, it looks so natural under the eye and doesn't cake. It sits really well all over the skin and is long lasting too, which is always a winner!

Danielle had mentioned that since she's started using the B6 Complexion Prep Spray she's noticed a huge difference in her skin. To the point that it gets a bit addictive to use, but it really helps with any bumps on the skin. As well as also helping to control any oil on the skin, resulting in it prepping the skin to stop any slip from makeup. You can wear it alone or with makeup and I'm really excited to give it a really good go, as I've only tried it a bit so far, but I think I can already begin to see that it's going to be addictive.

Another one that I've heard a lot about over the years is the All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, I always go to pick up a Skindinavia Spray whenever I'm at IMATS, yet I never do. Although I have really dry skin, I still find getting my makeup to last a struggle. So the All Nighter Spray seemed like the best suited option for me, but there are also two others. All Nighter is good though if you want something to leave your makeup looking fresh and a great one to top up on through out the day rather than powder.
The Naked Illuminating Shimmering Powder used to be limited edition for Christmas and every single Christmas I always seemed to miss it. But if you're like me or are a fan of it already, it's back and its permanent! I have the shade Aura, which is a pretty peach, the shimmer inside is so small due to the way that its made. Each one is baked, it gives the best pigmentation and doesn't leave you with chunky glitter particles on your face. It is more dramatic than your everyday highlight, but it gives such an amazing glow, I just want to cover my face in it 24/7.

Probably my favourite item out of everything I picked up is the Heavy Metal Liner in Distortion, I love glitter. For me this is just glitter heaven! As its a gel glitter liner and doesn't hold the glitter in more of a watery based product, the glitter doesn't settle in the bottle. Once they're on they're on and they will not budge. I've been applying them as liner, over black gel liner, all over the lid and even as an inner corner highlight, every single way has been comfortable to wear. Distortion is especially special because of its shade, you can layer it over so many colours and it changes ever so slightly, my favourite is over green.
(Swatches: Left to Right - Aura blended, Aura, Distortion, Naked Concealer blended, Naked Concealer)
I think I've caught the Urban Decay bug, especially the Heavy Metal Liners. I feel like its a bit like Pokemon, I've got to collect them all!

  6. I love the sound of the complexion prep spray, I'm all for anything that reduces make-up slip! Even though I'm not really into shimmer, Aura is so pretty I'm swooning over it... *sigh*
